So here I am, reading this thread. I glance out the window and see one of my hens not on the road, but in the grass area near it, where no one should be driving. I look back and hear a THUD only to see the same chicken, laying in the grass area. I grab some gloves and walk over there to see it still alive. It only hurt its leg, from what I could see. I put it back into the chicken house and put it by the feed and water. I'm mad about the driver driving off of the road and hitting the chicken, but I'm also mad knowing the chicken didn't die. It's a bit sadistic, but the last time this happened, it died for some reason. It might've broken more than its leg, so it's only a matter of time whether it dies or not.

I think I could've lived a decent life without knowing the lyrics to Girls Just Want To Have Fun. We had to play it over and over again because the singers couldn't get their cues. I now know all of their cues and notes. This wasn't in the role description.

It irritates me how people instantly equivocate "kill" with "murder."

 

Example:

"Police have killed thousands of people within the last year."

 

Yeah, they killed these people, but does that mean they murdered them? Not if it was out of self-defense. People need to think more instead of letting words like "kill" influence their beliefs, causing them to jump to conclusion about situations they have no knowledge of. If you're going to talk about murder, say "murder." Be specific about it.

 

Maybe the Bible is responsible for this. "Thou shall not kill." Dude, at least be specific about what you mean by that. "Thou shall not murder" is more like it. It's no wonder why all these people think even killing out of self-defense is a heinous crime of some sort.
