Went for my Driver’s License Renewal this morning.

Used to be a Mobile DMV Office(Business Bus) would serve the city, but the done got feared that Undocumented Aliens might high-jack it, so they took it out of service.

A person has to go to a Hub center now.

 

So in I walk at Nine. Get in line and it takes 42 minutes to get to the “Take a Number”.

At 0942 I sit down for my number to be called “shortly”.

At 1000 the people who had gotten theirs when the DMV opened (0745) start a ruckus. Seems that the first number was called when I got there. [Other services were being called every three to five minutes] A supervisor started shouting that, “If everyone didn’t settle down and wait quietly,” she said, “I will have the room cleared.” (60 people). “If People didn’t want to wait you could come back tomorrow or go to [another DMV office (2 hours away)].”

Two numbers were called by 11:00, one every 20 minutes. At Noon they started calling numbers every five minutes.

Seemed like they were giving priority to “Validated” ID and Drivers Licenses for Homeland Security purposes.

 

So, what happened between the days of the Bus and now? A normal Un-“Validated” (for HLS) Drivers license would only take Five minutes. Turning in the Old, getting the picture, and wait 3 minutes for the clerk to hand out the new one.

 

A question, what does a Birth Certificate prove? A piece of paper that a baby was born. How does it prove you are that baby?

Seems to me that if Homeland Security is all that needful of proving identify a person they should get blood samples for DNA.
