What's with the GTA V forum? I know it's always been bad, but the last couple days in particular have been a god damn nightmare with all the porn pics posted up and people generally just being idiots.

 

It reminds me of an asylum for the criminally insane. Even I'm starting to lose my sh*t.

Because I've been there for years and have a lot of friends there.

The vast majority of good friends I've made here I'm friends with on both Facebook and most messenger programs I use. It's simple really, good networking is good networking, if they're really your friends you should network with them and have more ways than just a forum to contact and talk to them.

 

Also, official boards for most game developers are bad places to make friends since they're, in general, fairly notorious for having really strict posting guidelines and actively censoring any potential bad press for their games. The only official board I've been on that I like still is the Bethesda one, and they're still insanely strict by GTAF standards.

Unfortunately we can thank R*'s silence for it. Most threads/posts are complaining about it and people just being dicks to eachother. I think myself and Ryan in particular have been flat out the last couple days trying to clean up all the sh*t.

 

There's only so much we can do since we can only lock, edit posts, and bin threads. Some days I'll get caught out when there's a spammer and there's nothing I can do, but delete the posts/threads.

 

If only we had the power to ban. It would be far less frustrating for us.

Indeed. Judging by all the reports, I think I've dealt with the worst of it. As you said though, it's quite frustrating not being able to anything but delete the posts, especially when they keep doing it over and over since they know no mods or admins are online and won't be for a while. I sat here for close to 6 hours yesterday nearly constantly deleting posts full of gay porn, sexual diseases, dead babes, and dead people because nobody was online to ban the idiot.

Couldn't you guys ask the admins for such power? i mean, would they really mind giving you the abilty to at least temp-ban people who cause sh*t in the V section? considering it's the most active sub-forum right now, i can't see anything wrong with that.

it only feels like yesterday that my next door neighbour and I were kids and doing typical kid things such as making 'dens' some of them in the big bush on top of the wall, good view from there. and firing my sh*tty BB gun at a target, or shattering the glass on an olde thermometer with it from the other side of the garden, you know sh*t like that.

I felt old a month ago cos I was walking to subway, and I passed an empty pot that used to be a petrol station, I see kids there, riding scooters (not motorised ones) and doing jumps and sh*t, and I suddenly rememebered when i used to do that as a kid of like 9 or 10, and then remembered the one time I f*cked up and landed flat on my face. like a flashback or sommat

Guys cheer up, we're in our early 20s, that means by the time we hit the wall cosmetic surgery will have most likely reached a point where people who do it don't end up looking like reptilian humanoids and performance enhancers will have probably advanced to the stage where they have minimal side effects. This means you'll more or less get a second chance in your 40s if you f*ck all of your 20s and 30s up, no generation has ever had do overs like that before.

Time goes faster than I like, and nostalgia is all too common,particularly this time right before sleep, I think of what I did when I was younger, and all the good times with old friends who I no longer see, it makes me so very sad.

 

Also, I am f*cking sick of people who start at the V section, then before they stop being retarded decide to hit Tech and PC chat and give people the worst possible.advice on computers, god it annoys me.

Today Master Of San Andreas suggested that someone upgrade their GPU to an 8400gs for gaming.

The 8400gs is more than 6 years old and want designed for gaming in the first place!!

Don't give advice until you learn the subject at hand, and even then be clear that you aren't confident yet so be wary when taking the advice.

Yesterday it was like we got a derecho during band practice, there was this weak but scary shelf cloud and very dark clouds heading towards us. So practice ended an hour early, which was great. But then an hour was added to Wednesdays practice which sucks. We have rain chances Wed thru Sunday though.
