The Dyslexic Charities get a bye on this one, although considering what the condition is you could have made Dyslexia easier to spell)

Gotta love irony.

Getting to the Shop

Push Chairs and buggies– Riot act should be reintroduced... any gathering of more than two buggies in a public place should be met with tear gas and or plastic bullets

Use the CCTV coverage of town centres for good, for the footpaths – on the spot fines for dawdlers, for the people who change direction in mid-stride

What kind of moronic twat faced binters have to stop exactly where they bump into the old friend they haven’t seen in minutes despite the fact it’s the narrowest part of the footpath in 37 miles and their arse would dam the suez canal... move you lard loving brick brained spaz on a stick!!! Would it kill them to move those extra two yards out of everybody’s way? They would do it for the sniff of a lid from a Utah Fried Chicken bargain bucket so why can’t they do it out of politeness?

Devil Children should have the same rules as Dogs... keep them tied up of they should be tazered

People who walk into you when they are texting someone...’sorry I didn’t see you’ Of course you f****** didn’t you tulipfaced copydexbreathed idiot. On the spot fines aren’t good enough... and according to UK magistrates court taking their phone off them and stamping on it until it dies is wrong so how about an ankle bracelet that shocks them everytime they send a text...

Call me old fashon, and I'm sure you will, but I enjoy holding a book. Turning the pages by hand. Collecting them on the shelf and admiring their physical presence. I understand if you travel alot and can store these works on your electronic device to read them; that is a good step forward. But...

To be fair, a lot of people still buy the actual book themselves but then will purchase it on the Kindle or another Ereader due to the fact they can take it around with them without having to have a bigger bag/less room while traveling to work or the general awkwardness of a book while on the move.

The only huge downfall that I see with the Kindle and any other Ereader is the fact that they have no back light. That sh*t would be awesome for when I'd be reading in bed, or in the evening and I don't quite want the lights on yet or something like that. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to actually get a back light with the option to turn it on/off without ruining the quality of the text.

To me, a Kindle would be more of a step sideways because I already own a sh*t-ton of books, so buying them again would be a terrific waste of money to me. I know I could get certain "classics" for free, such as work by Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft, but even for others, it's just money I'd rather use for something else.

Well I'd never dream of re buying the books I already have, that seems a little strange. I would just buy the digital copies of whatever book I wanted in the future (my gran buys the hardbacks for her real library but doesn't read them) Which is also strange to me. To be fair, I've noticed quite a few Stephen King books that I've never heard of/seen before that are on the Kindle library for about £2.

I agree with the buying of books you already own, but knowing my luck I'd end up carrying my Kindle and maybe three or four books with me that I wanted to read or indeed was around halfway through. To me, it'd be like buying some CDs and then not putting them on my iPod. Alright, so the method is a little different because I don't have to buy them off iTunes again but that's the point - I probably wouldn't buy them again off iTunes and just carry them around instead.

That's if I was an idiot anyway.

Haha to be fair, I think I'd put off buying a Kindle if I was halfway through 3 different books. Then again I've never been the type who can read even 2 books at the same time.

A friend of mine, she's a keen keen reader and has about 600/700 books littered through her house. She's in her late 30s, so naturally she's had some time to collect whatever material she fancies. She recently bought a Kindle and has indeed doubled up so she doesn't have to worry about what she takes with her. I often wonder how much money she's spent on books she already owns, and often already read.

Probably spent hundreds over the years. Its like people who own a butt load of DVD's or CD's. Its fun to wonder how much people have spent over the years for all of those kind of things.

I have a few hundred manuscripts and misc. documents I collected over the years, on a PC as Word docs. It would be nice to put them on a Kindle, but I understand from what little I can find that it won't take Word.doc without a lot of troublesome conversion.

I also have a few hundred books, 99% Sci-Fi, that I wouldn't rebuy as E. I like the feel of a real book in my hands.

I'm not even going to post about it, but Prominent Fate...member Nathan here, he thought my account was used by Jimmy 526 here, as he's had an obsession with the GTAF since Dec 2010, basically. I can see easily how anyone would want to be a member here, but judging from his messages and the way they change from one person to the next, it's obvious, he's not matured well enough on his own.

I hope he does wise up eventually. Some of you no doubt hope the same of me! hahaha

Well, PF suggested my account was usurped, it never was, If someone is using another persons account, their IP location changes, there's no one here when I am on GTAF using my account, so it rules out that idea completely.

I will say, Greenline seems to be sharing messages with someone, WHY?

There's no need to be doing that, a PM should be private, despite what Moderators think. As they feel about OGA, I feel about PMs, so that's that.

BTW, River Phoenix was a cool name! ^

Essentially irrelevant. What is considered private and public on this forum is entirely at the discretion of the staff. This is why decisions are discussed at length before they are made- to achieve a consensus. It's that consensus that let you back in, to be fair. But don't have any expectations of privacy, and don't try and clamber up your high horse if people do what they're perfectly rightly and legitimately in their power to do.

Skye, skyler, laun, noah, elijah, hunter, river, etc.

My birth certificate carries my family name along with my not so common day to day name. I've never used my family name but it is always there just in case. The reason my alternate name was carved in stone was because my family wanted to make darn sure that no one could call me my family name(or any iteration). All of the males in my family carry the same name, yet none of them ever went by/use it. I'm the first one in my family with a legal alternate name. If I were to have a male child, it would be the same story - he would carry the family name, but legally use an alternate name.

At one point I dated a girl named ,Tangerine, she later went on to have a child named ,Forest Ranger. Sigh....

A former work buddy of mine hated his one daughter's boyfriend just because his name was Skye.

-kind of personal-

My sister had plans to work in a Star Wars name to her first child's name(as well as a portion of my family name). She lost it to a miscarriage. Here in PA you still have to have a complete birth certificate even if you miscarry. The name on the birth/death certificate was, Yoda. The kid she later had doesn't have a Star Wars name, but I think he has a pretty cool name since it is what my grandfather went by(and part of our middle name), Fletcher.

Where's my beer? I should be working on something worthwhile and not rambling here.

Noting much specific is making me grumpy of late. The general thing of people not knowing how to be individual instead of looking and acting like they 'think' they should has been getting at me lately I guess. Sometimes its fun to watch people 'act' and other days it is just sad.

Well, I just got pissed because Jimmy got involved with the other GTA sites, and as you people know who've been around, I was exiled as well, for a time, and I had to use other GTA sites, you're going to find PBMs, that's the way of the Internet World, I didn't want to be involved in "drama" as PcGuytech_2005 has called it on a number of occasions, we made it no secret about this policy, but we're left feeling like a PBM Court of Appeals, I can see that wearing any sane person down, there's "bigger fish to fry", but the point that made me grumpy is all the time devoted to who said what, and he said/She said bullcrap is enough to make your friggin' head spin!!

I just got off for some time alone with the game, I wasn't going to feed into that vicious cycle, like any cycle similar going on among established GTAF members (OGA is a prime example because people who've established themselves here, they can pretty much say what they want, but others can't. There's plenty of resentment and "player hate" to go around

What if you marry someone of a different race? Wouldn't giving your son a name which might be more similar to your partner's race (i.e. if you're white and you marry a Chinese girl, and decide to give your kid a Mandarin name) going against your own family's "tradition"? And wouldn't the normality of such an occurrence render your argument to be moot? I'm with you on some of the names, but that's just culture moving along slowly - some names which are incredibly common now probably seemed lower-class a couple of centuries ago, and the same process will repeat with some names which are being used now.

I hate those annoying people in city centres like Big Issue sellers, street preachers, Greenpeace, and other people/groups that hold you up on the street when you're in a rush to get somewhere.

I've just come back from town and I've seen:

- A street preacher who I think might have ended up getting into an arguement with a Muslim woman.

- Some drugged up alcoholic who was holding a "Rob the Banks" sign, and tried to make me join this group.

- A Big Issue Seller doing their usual "I've got issues" thing.

- A street musician who couldn't sing for his life and would make a wonderful contestant on the X Factor, who I thought was about to get beaten-up by a guy who walked straight towards him carrying a very big staff.

Halfords

I went to purchase a Dab radio for my girlfriends car and decided to use Halfords deal where you get free fitting if you spend over £120. Imagine my calm and reasonable response when I was told that the Ford Mondeo isn’t covered by deal because they have to use a special tool.... So if the biggest selling car of the last two decades isn’t included what the hell is? To get one of their ‘experts’ to use his magic tool (And yes it could well be his penis for all I know) they wanted £26.

Now I could take all of this in my stride but I’m pretty sure the guy who was their audio expert was their bike expert last week (a role a shaved monkey who seemed to be an expert in the contents of his own nose and not a lot else had taken over)

Halfords meet the difficult challenge of making their very stupid staff look bigger cockmonkeys by insisting they are experts. Your average 17 yr old expert on car stereos (Fitting and especially removals) are doing time in a young offenders unit not scratching themselves behind the counter of a shop as Kevin in Norwich was.

And the cost is ridiculous. £26 for what can only be a ten minute job... less if their idiot staff member didn’t feel the need to scratch himself quite so often. All I can say is they must be some f*cking kind of special magic spanners for them to expect me to pay out what works out at about £156 per hour for a fitting service by a shaved monkey or as they call them ‘audio expert’

As usual I have a plan. Why not nationalise Halfords? Then we can get the pikey little f*cker who stole my girlfriends radio to fit the replacement. They seem to be able to manage it with a bottle top and a twig and it takes about 4 seconds so imagine how good they will be with the ‘special magic’ tools the ‘experts’ at Halfords obviously use.

In conclusion I have decided that all the staff at Halfords are C***'s

To be honest your biggest mistake was going to Halfords in the first place. They are over priced and most of the people working there like you said, don't know their arse from their ear. You'd get it cheaper somewhere else and not only that you'd probably get a cheaper fitting by going to a garage. Or, do what most car inclined men do and buy the thing, then look up online on how to fit the stereo, they are usually straight forward the only hassle is when you've got a stereo leaver near/around the steering wheel.
