MMFF
Don't talk in all caps, it angers people. On topic: This shouldn't be to hard. They drive like bitches. Don't panic and just drive, may take a couple of times but you should get it. Also, if you are using the PS2 version, just find a short road that they take. Do the tank cheat a bunch of times and make a road block with them. Then take another road to get around. Afterwards, use a flamethrower to get rid of tanks. radioman
The thing I found to be true with pretty much all races in GTA's is that the opponents cannot drive very well. So when the race begins, hold back for a couple of seconds and you'll see the other cars crash right before the 1st checkpoint so take off then and you should be able to take and hold second place while the others are trying to regain control of their car and when you pass the first car to take 1st place, which should be by the 2nd turn if you are good at driving, the most important thing to remember is it is better to drive true than to drive full speed all the way. Try to only floor it on straight aways and slow down on turns-this will help you keep the lead better. The best car to use is the "mafia sentinal" because it has great handling and speed-It is what I always use for the race, and I always come in 1st place everytime. If you need more help check out Demerest's website here. It is better than the official strategy guide and covers the complete walk-thru to 100%. Hope this helps. Heihachi_73
I've beaten that (no cheats or mods) in a Police car, FBI car, Diablo Stallion, Triad Fish Van, a Taxi, and even an Esperanto on the PS2 once! On another note, you could be a cheater and put in BANGBANGBANG (PC version) and kill the CPU's cars then get another car. Of course, don't sit in your car while putting the cheat in
Knowledge Novice
Well if you don't mind having an unfair advantage but don't want to use a 'cheat code' for whatever reason you could edit your 'handling.cfg' file. Just take note of what cars you will be racing against and edit those cars handling files so that their top speed or acceleration is very low. They won't have a chance and since this isn't an scm mod you won't have to start a new game. Or for added humor you can edit those cars wheel size in the 'default.ide' file. At high speeds these guys won't be able to keep from flipping over. Or at low speeds it just looks funny. First of all BACK UP ANY FILE THAT YOU PLAN TO EDIT. For example if one of the cars is a Cheetah: * handling.cfg file (in 'data' folder - open it with notepad) CHEETAH 1200.0 2.0 4.5 1.2 0.0 0.0 -0.3 70 1.2 0.86 0.52 5 230.0 30.0 R P 11.1 0.52 0 30.0 3.0 0.1 0.40 0.9 105000 0.25 -0.10 0.5 8181 0 0 The # in Red should be max speed. Just lower it. It should go from a cheetah to a turtle. The # in Orange is the cars acceleration. Lower it for slower take off. The # in Green is the %submerged, if changed to -1 the car will still sink in water but is placed back on land without any negative effects. The # in Purple is the cars damage multiplier. Set it to -0.1 or -0.01 (can't remember which) and the car won't lose life by crashing. The body still looks damaged though and bullets do still damage it. Y'all may know this already though. OR if you want to change tire size * default.ide (also in 'data' folder - opens with notepad) 105, cheetah, cheetah, car, CHEETAH, CHEETAH, executive, 10, 7, 0, 160, 0.7 The # in Red can be raised or lowered. Raise it and the tires get too big to drive easily. Lower it far enough and the car looks like someone jacked it's rims and left it sitting on the ground. Needless to say it won't be goin' anywhere. When you want to return the files back to normal just replace them with the back up that you made earlier. Happy racin'. See you guys around. bitsandpieces
This should help you. Before you start the race, go to the Coach terminal and steal one, then park it across the 3 cars on the grid, get out of the Coach and push by running/walking against the rear end of the left and right cars, so that they'll be pointing towards the center of the Coach. After this, get in your car (i suggest a Yakuza stinger) and start your run a little way back, so that when you're about to cross the line, you gently tap the right car, which will be to your immediate left at the starting point. This will start the race and you'll be ahead quite a bit. Just keep going and don't look back. If you've learned the route, you should do well> P.S. Don't drive too fast or most likely you'll lose control and crash, easy&steady and watch out for the darn taxi's turning in front of you. Good luck! Canoxa
Before stepping your car in the starting grid, get out and try to jack the opponents from the passenger's side. It'll do wonders.

You can't jack the opponet's cars, they're locked( at least they are, in my game)!

Though, truthfully, it's not all that hard to just beat them in a legitimate fashion.
brucewayne909
While I have used trucks to block the road directly ahead of the starting point, I find that using a police cruiser (with the siren) you can complete the race real quick.
NDSmith22
This is the only mission in all of III that i had any trouble with...it took me bout 6 times to beat it but i did. I found taht i was too tense and bent on winning the race which made me get pissed off easily and lose the race. Finally i chilled out and just won the race. The worst mission in all the GTA's was that mission in VC where you had to beat that guy to be ur driver-omg that race took me like a week and prob 50 tries. Himuro
I'm doing TUsimo missions late in the game and they're impossible because they go through Mafia territory. Tips?
Zeekard
I don't wanna laugh at you guys, but I've done this missions by Cabbie at the first time I've tried. One time I was riding by the Perennial for fun and I won too.
Bartleby
I'm doing TUsimo missions late in the game and they're impossible because they go through Mafia territory. Tips? If you've completed all of Ray Machowski's missions at the park toilet, then you can use your bulletproof patriot to drive through enemy gang territories unscathed. It's obviously not anywhere near as fast as an Infernus or Cheetah, but I'm fairly certain you could win if you just take turns slowly and drive steady; the other cars are due to crash at least once or twice in the race. The car that you have to break through the glass to get too, that's what I used for that race, and the race was a breeze for me.
