[REL|1.1] *FINAL* Cessna 152

Managed to get the signal lights to work and now the textures are crisp clear.

Here's a little plane that's been in the works for a month or so.

I decided to make this as I havent seen no civil planes made for SA yet.

This is my very first vehicle mod for SA that I managed to finish, and I am quite happy with the way it turned out

so I am sharing it with the community.

The model is scratch made by me, with the sole purpose to replace the dodo and skimmer in GTA SA.

If someone knows how to make the plane signal lights to work, please let me know! I would really like to get them to work.

I was able to get the light info extracted from 3D max with dexxtools, but I have no idea where in the dff file to place that info with RWanalyze. And I dont know if I have even extracted the light info correctly confused.gif

@blackadder18: Future mods? hmnn... maybe. I wont promise anything so noone will be disappointed tounge.gif. I'll prolly try to make a replacement for another plane I think. Maybe the Shamal, Beagle, Nevada or Cropduster.

(planes are nice to model - no damage parts tounge.gif)

 

@Picolini: Thank you, thank you smile.gif. Other mods? Well I tried making a car, got frustrated at 3D max and scrapped it suicidal.gif Other than that I've done some minor SCM coding. Nothing worth sharing though.

Of course the doors CAN be damaged - IF the model has damage parts. Mine dont, since that was the way with Rockstar planes aswell.

And seeing as the plane will prolly never come to a situation where it's doors were to get damaged... Meh, I was just lazy tounge.gif

Sweet! Mind if I go ahead and make a few skins for this beauty? I've flown in a couple in my time meself smile.gif

 

Signal lights? You mean nav lights? I spose you can either do em by using the vehiclelight128 texture and colouring the material the colour required, or better still you could use Vertex colouring. What program you use for a start?

The vehiclelights128 texture doesn't light up at night on the planes.

 

I think he means the omni lights, they show up in zmod2, but don't export because zmod2 doesn't support it.

 

I'm not sure if Kam's script for 3ds Max supports it either, but I know you can make omnis in Max but I have no clue how you'd need to set them up and if they're the same kinda turn.gif

@flashG: Please do host it at The Borgs (same goes for everyother site - the plane's for the community no reason to hide it tounge.gif)

 

@GTAuron: Go ahead and skin to your hearts content. Though I was a bit sloppy on the UVW mapping so you'll have hard time with getting the skins proper. If you use adobe I can send you my sloppy made PSD files.

 

@Picolini: You got it - Omni lights. Those were the ones I meant - and the ones Rockstar uses too apparently. They show up in 3D max as well, but Kam's script does not support them. BUT Dex has made a tool that does! I was able to get the lights exported but not able to import them into the dff with the RWanalyze program. I'd need an spesific tutorial about this on RWanalyze to get it right.

@JahBit: open your DFF model with the RW analyzer and go to Clump-> geometry list-> geometry-> extension, then right-click on extension and ''add section'' type 0x253F2F8 and click OK, then right-click in the section you created and click on 'import section data', select your .sae file and save

EDIT: I'm looking into the TXD and it seems corrupted (greenish textures) can you upload a uncorrupted one? you can try using G-TXD instead of TXD workshop.

Ok, it seems you know your way around RW analyzer - I still dont tounge.gif

 

There's 20'ish geometry sections in the geometry list notify.gif . I tried adding the .sae to the 1st extension - didnt work. Tried it at the 4th last one ( that's where 0x253F2F8 is in R*'s dodo ) but that didnt help either.

I wonder if I have to add the .sae line to each and every "section" to get the lights to work suicidal.gif

 

edit: the 0x253F2F8 is in the largest geometry bit in the R* dodo - and the largest bit would of course be the Chassis no doubt... on with the testing.

edit2: linked the omnis to the chassis and imported the R* dodo lights into my plane. Lights do work but they blink at 2 times per second - as opposed to the original once every 5 secs or so, and naturally their positioning is totally wrong

My exported .sae file was not functional at all saddly. whatsthat.gif

 

I'll repack the txd with G-txd later today (after I get the lights to work mercie_blink.gif)

 

 

 

Nobody likes the amphibious version? I kinda like that one more as I've flown around in the normal version for so long in game while testing it tounge.gif

I'm asking here, if somebody could convert this plane to GTA3 as a Dodo replacement. I asked JahBit himself if he could do so, but he's not that much into GTA anymore. Here is his response:

 

I give my full permission to anyone willing to convert the plane for any of the GTA series games - should you find someone capable of doing it.

 

So, is there anybody who is interested in doing this one?
