The Dogg
Hi at all. I would like to erase the northern part of the map, i.e. the desert and Las Venturas.I've already test to different manner but that bug each time. I've test with med; modify the gta.dat; erase lines in ipl and ide files; erase ipl and ide files with map cleaner but each time, that plants. Thank you in advance for your assistance which I hope will be useful. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/264008-clean-las-venturas-desert/ Share on other sites
-/TNT\-
The best bet would be to erase the Las Vebturas IpL lines from the gta.dat, which are the following: IDE DATA\MAPS\vegas\vegasN.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\vegas\vegasS.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\vegas\vegasE.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\vegas\vegasW.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\vegas\vegaxref.IDE about the country there are these lines, but not all are from the desert (some are from Mt. Chilliad and that area) IDE DATA\MAPS\country\countryN.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\country\countN2.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\country\countryS.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\country\countryE.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\country\countryW.IDEIDE DATA\MAPS\country\counxref.IDE Now, there is a large chance that you will need to use a stripped scm for this to work. This will be necessary because certain objects are mentioned in the script and if not found, they cause the game to crash. But the best thing to do is to use Steve-M's Map Cleaner/ With it you can select the ide and ipl's you want deleting and it will clean them, deleting the lines and the model and texture files within the gta3.img Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/264008-clean-las-venturas-desert/#findComment-3991059 Share on other sites

Gforce
maybe you're forgetting that there are binary ipl files in the gta3.img that may be trying to place objects on the game map that no longer have IDE (item definition entries) lines. also a stripped main.scm and script.img are highly recommended due to certain map objects being placed on the map or being called upon that no longer exist in IDE files. another thing you may wish to consider when removing the ide/ipl files is the respective collision files within the gta3.img. also consider using G-Img to remove the unwanted dff's and txd files from the gta3.img, G-Img has a file harvest feature that can export and delete files from the img by reading the IDE file you intend to remove from the game, be careful removing the txd's as sometimes they may be being used by another ide file for objects elsewhere on the map, as can sometimes be the case for ipl placements of dff files for other area's on the map that are initially defined in the ide's you intend to remove. a top tip for you is to use the search feature within MEd to look for item placements or txd use in other map area ide/ipl files, slow and painstaking, but ripping out sections of SA was never going to be an easy job anyway. Good luck ......... Edit:- i just noticed the original topic starter post date and realised i just wasted 10 minutes typing a reply to a question by a member who never returned to his topic even to say thanks for the help in 8 months Edited August 1, 2007 by Gforce Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/264008-clean-las-venturas-desert/#findComment-4426523 Share on other sites
