BIG_TONY
well San Andreas runs good...until there's a lot of cars or more then 3 people are shooting a gun or if there is a lot of stuff going on. It also runs slow when i have the fx settings anything above low but the funny thing is i can run it max resolution with max draw distance with no extra slow down then what it was. i've tried putting all the thing lowest it can go no help but it only lags when theirs lots of peds and cars and even slower when there iss a shootout (try playing sa-mp when you are goin slower then a turtle) my specs are windows sp1 Pentium 4 cpu 1.70ghz 1.69 ghz<(why dose it show 2 ghz things lol) 768mb ram nvidia geforce 6200 (256mb) what really confuses me is that i pass ALL the recommended system requirements well i have all the latest drivers updates yada yada yada.. did nothing. run virus ad ware spy ware scans and nothing. knowing my luck its probably something simple lol
Justin
Clear up some RAM. You meet the requirements, but it's always good to have some handy. Do so by ending non-essential processes, such as your anti-virus. CTRL+ALT+DEL (Task Manager) is crude but effective.
BIG_TONY
tried it and it still goes slow
s18000rpm
first of all, if you've installed any car mods, then its obvious it may get slowed down sometimes, b'coz of the high texture use in the car models. ==>>do Defragment your Drive (where gta sa is located). if you've installed mods, then its obvious that the GTA3.IMG file gets highly defragmented. read the defragment Analysis report & if you find only the gta3.img file defragmented, then just select "cut" & paste it on another drive/partition, then again do it in reverse (i.e. select "cut" gta3.img & paste it in its original location. what happens here is the file when pasted/moved to new partition, it gets stored/copied as a "Contiguos" file. this way you dont have to run the defragmenter application (which will take 20-40mins). BIG_TONY
well if your pc is worse then mine...this really is not making sense. oh and i have no mods except sa-mp
rockroc
my pc is just worse than yours maybe your pc does not support the 800x420 resolution, go to options and change around the resolutions to see which one is most compatible. or take off the frame limiter, that slows mine down dramatically. BIG_TONY
thx for all the help but the problem remains unsolved it only goes slow when there is alot of shooting or cars around i think it may be my processor another thing it only lags in high fx mode when loading shodows leading me to think i may need a new processor but wait it runs better when i turn off the sound why is that? the hubster
this might seem realy obvious, but check that anit-alaising is turned off, it can realy destroy your spped, a computer of that spec should run SA fine, i used to play it on a Dell 2.6 Ghz with 512 ram and integrated graphics and it ran fine
