San Andreas Nut
what the hell? how do I increase "Virtual Memory" ? this message always comes up after playing a game i.e BF2, JustCasue or even Photoshop CS2.
Waste
Your link is messed up because of your filename. But, I saw the screenshot and this typically happens when you use lots of programs at once or programs that use a lot of memory. Does this happen each and everytime you use these programs or just every now and again?
K^2
Virtual Memory lets your OS to use more memory than the amount of RAM that you have. The data that doesn't fit into RAM is put into the paging file. When you open/close/minimize programs, data is moved between RAM and the paging file. These are the times when the OS might realize that it doesn't have enough Virtual Memory to accommodate the operation. To fix this, you need to expand your paging file. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance Settings -> Advanced. Find the Virtual Memory info. Click Change. Virtual Memory manager window will open. You want to increase the total size of the paging file. You can distribute it among several disks. Remember, the space will actually be used, so make sure you have the space that wish to allocate. Recommended size for paging file is minimum 1.5x amount of RAM you have and maximum about twice the minimum amount. If nobody has touched your paging file settings, these will probably be set. You will probably want to increase the minimum amount to 2x your RAM. If you still have problems, try 3x. Another thing you can do is increase the amount of RAM. More physical memory means fewer accesses to the paging file. The above solution will work just as well, but expanding RAM will also make the closing/opening/minimizing operations a lot faster. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

EDIT: I just deleted some crap & now I have 36GB free HDD space Edited December 28, 2006 by San Andreas Nut
K^2
Yeah. That sounds reasonable. If it still complains, you can try going up to 3000MB, but if it complains even after that, I'd start looking for a problem. Most likely, though, 2000MB will let you run everything problem free. LT.Diablo
Hey, this post is kinda irrelevent but I run the same programs as SAN, that take up a lot of memory and I also have 1GB of RAM but I never get this message. I checked the paging file thing and its the same as well. Why?
*gta star*
You virtual memory may be spread through different disks, it could also depend on your Operating System. You use windows, right ?

I checked the paging file thing and its the same as well. Why? My first guess would be that San Andreas Nut's paging file was set to smaller size earlier. Besides that, there are a bunch of factors, down to how fast your HDD is. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. Mark
1 gig of RAM and you're getting those errors? Wtf have you got on your system?! lol. I've got them before, but that's cause my PC has 256MB RAM and was running ZMod1, Zmod2 and San An at the same time. Never had them on this machine i'm using at the mo, and that's only 512MB. _-playero-_
I use to get this error while playing Sim City 4 on Windows XP with 128MB RAM I have 1,2 GB now so... @san: It comes down to the programs you are using in the moment, not the amount of programs or files stored in your harddrive. San Andreas Nut
oh ok, usually its just the obvious things running i.e. firewall, norton, wireless connection. and only xfire,Last.FM client & the biggie is BF2.
K^2
1 gig of RAM and you're getting those errors? Wtf have you got on your system? Many games use up more RAM if it's available, letting you set higher quality settings. If that's the case, then the only thing that matters is the ratio of RAM to paging file.
