Manej
Hello, I've been trying to convert the pirate ship in Las Venturas into an actual vehicle (obviously a boat) all day. I already have the .dff's and the .txd of the pirate ship out of gta3.img. I import into Zmodeler (I'm using 2.0.8), setup ped_frontseat, the exhaust, etc. Then I do the whole export process, use IMGtool to replace the dinghy.dff file with my file, etc, but I crash when starting San Andreas (scm opcode 0xA5, placing a vehicle). I've tried various methods of importing the Dinghy into Zmodeler and taking stuff from it. Hell, I've even tried attaching the pirate ship to the dinghy, but I just can't get anywhere. I've made sure to pay careful attention to the structure within the .dff file. I'm hoping that someone can help me out. Also, I've tried it with and without collision information within the .dff, but it seems to have no effect. I've already pried open several other mods and in-game boats for reference, but I still can't see what makes my mod crash the game. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide me. Here's my .z3d file right now.
Blackadder.
but I crash when starting San Andreas (scm opcode 0xA5, placing a vehicle) SCM Opcode? It's crashing when trying to spawn the dinghy? Is your SA Mod free? (besides this mod)
Manej
No, I have two small mods I made myself, one that adds seats to the Androm and opens the cargo bay, and one that adds a seat to the Hydra. They both work fine, and I haven't crashed yet when using them.

Blackadder.
GTA Garage Mod Manager If it appears well in GGMM, in theory, It should work ingame, although sometimes the program is alittle faulty...

Blackadder.
Ok, did you reset all the local axis? (Or something)
Manej
Bit confused. I'm sorry I'm so noobish Local axis? Does the center of the vehicle have to be at 0,0,0? It's a bit off right now. Edit: The boat is now exactly on 0,0,0, if that makes any difference, but it still doesn't help. Manej
I apologize for my double post, but I wanted to know if I needed to "covert" the .dff of the pirate ship to some other format or something. The pirate ship doesn't require collision information, does it? I've seen other mods without any collision information, and they are perfectly solid. Could that be affecting my results? In my troubleshooting, I found that I can't even add to an existing .dff file (combining two, for instance), even after attacking/linking them together. Obviously, something is wrong with my technique, but what? Edited December 28, 2006 by Manej
