fox09
Well, it seems that everytime I buy a new pair of earbuds, their lifespan seems to drop. About 6 months ago, I bought these spendy $80 earbuds to replace the crappy iPod headphones. Noise-cancelling, etc etc. They worked great, and I loved them, but then after a few months, the right earbud started gettting quieter and quieter, before it crapped out altogether. So I bought another pair, and this time, they lasted a few weeks, before the right one again, died. New pair. This time, only a few days before the wiring got messed up, and everytime I jiggled the plug, the noise would cut in and out. So it was only a matter of time before it too, died. Now, I just bought a pair about 2 days ago, and already, the left one this time, is dead. So seriously, what the f*ck is up with this? I don't want to have to buy a new pair of headphones every 3 days. Now, maybe I just have toxic earwax, or something. But there has to be SOMETHING that's killing my 'phones. I need help. Waste
Ear buds aren't known for thier durability really. Your best bet is to buy them from somewhere that has a replacement plan. Where at least if they do break, you can just go exchange them for another pair.
Rayo Puño
Stop playing them so loud, it looks like you're blowing the speaker on the first two. Earbuds can't handle as much as they have smaller speakers compared to big headphones.
Mark
^ What he said. I used to play mine nearly full volume all the time, til I noticed the sound started to go a lot. Got a new decent pair, and play me player at about 3/4 volume, they've now lasted about 18 months so far. Also you're probably finding you're also getting used to that volume too, so don't feel tempted to turn em up cause you like the song lol
fox09
Hah. Actually, I've never been one to play them loud. I never have them over half volume. The only other thing I can think of is that I generally just ball them up and shove them in my pocket when I'm not using them. I suppose that could f*ck up the wiring. But with that consistency? And there's gotta be other people who treat them worse, who stll have them last longer. Bah.
Teqila
I've had a few cheap ones break on me. The $40 Sony canalphones I got aren't damaged yet.
K^2
I still have a pair of Sony's ear buds that came with my old cassette Walkman. They work today with my MP3 player as well as they did in the age of the magnetic tapes. I don't know if they still make them as well as they used to, but I'd recommend trying Sony. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
