ybakker
Yea. I gotta make a short film for school, but I don't have any good ideas. I'd like the style to be kinda Tarantino-like. A good plot, characters, with a big twist at the end. Ought to be around 5-10 minutes. Any suggestions would be nice.
Andyzoot
Quick suggestion off the top of my head... How about a game of Russian Roulette? It would give you a chance to show off different shot types showing the player's expressions and that and build up some intensity through your editing which will earn you some big points with your teacher...assuming this is coursework of some kind. I'll leave you to think of some cool ass ending.
fox09
The diner scene from Pulp Fiction.
ybakker
That's quite good. But I think the idea's too simple. There needs to be a reason/plot two people actually are doing russian roulette. But hardly anyone would challenge someone by doing russian roulette when you can just shoot the other guy in the face. Thanks though.
silvermanblue
Follow a hobo for a day (I got an a for it). Also use black and white. Leone Family Mafia ПРОПАГАНДА.ИНЦ, СИЛВЕРМАНБЛУЕ

ybakker
No specific genre, but there def needs to be a small plot with a twist.
Venom
You know the video for Smack My Bitch Up.. That was interesting.. with a nice twist at the end.. How about, you start off with like a hostage situation, guys with masks inside, police outside.. maybe.
topdogkiller
How about you do extreme rock paper scissors and end it with a quick draw. But you should go in depth with the character like tarrantino. Oh and smack my bitch up is one of the best music videos i've ever see. It can never be recreated. ToyMachine
Two football teams in a well respected football league are doing very bad and this has been continuing for a couple of years. They have an equal amount of consecutive losses. They both need 1 more loss to break the record for most consequtive losses and the players on both teams want to make history. They play each other next game and they both do everything they possibly can to make the other team win the game and make themselves lose. They basically both play to lose. But hardly anyone would challenge someone by doing russian roulette when you can just shoot the other guy in the face. They're trapped in a room with only one door out to carridor which leads to another room which has a switch of some kind which can solve a greater problem, the only problem is the corridor is 'filled' with poisonous gas/toxin/virus, which would kill the other person in a horrible death, and they've only got one chem-suit. So they decide to play russian roulette to decide who wants to be put out of their misery quickly without the horrible death and who will go and press the button... the twist, ones gets killed in the russian roulette, the other puts the suit on and enters the corridor, where he trips and rips his suit.... and doesn't die as there was no gas/toxin/virus. Expanded with background and twist

darthYENIK
What kind of film are you shooting with? I'm really good with coming up with short film Ideas off the top of my head. I've done a few. But I'm not going to give you an idea, because it wouldn't really be your story, and I try not to promote ghostwriting. I will give you some pointers as to how I come up with Ideas. Step 0 (optional). Get high. Smoke some weed. It always shows me the world in a different way. Step 1. Observe your surroundings. Look around you. Just let your imagination run. Step 2. Put your dick in the box. Just kidding, or am I? Pick an object in your surroundings as your catalyst. Maybe have someone be really fond of an object, or lose an object, or even have an intimate relationship with an object. Step 3. Move around to different places. Take a walk or a drive. You never know what you'll see on the streets, or in a park. Your whole story could be thrown out in front of you. Step 4. If all else fails, make an "art film". Just film a bunch of random things, and say that the film is supposed to convey an emotion, or some sort of moral.
