Gouveia
Hey all! My dad wants to buy a new car, but he is telling to me decide for him what's the best. Like him, I can't decide. They're all good and I love them all. If I could, I would choose the three... But here is the choices that he told me: A '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse(He had one before): A '95 Mustang GT: And a '68 Dodge Charger: Please, help me to choose what one! I'm confuse! Wayfarer
1968 Charger? That's badass, but wouldn't that be a bit unpractical? It's a typical muscle car from the era when the gas was pretty cheap. Plus, the spare parts. From what can I see, you live in Brazil. I heard there are some american muscle cars in Latin/South America countries, but I guess there would be a problem with getting some spare parts in case of car accident or a malfunction. I'd probably choose 1995 Mustang. Oh I know, I know nothing about Fords, Fords suck etc. (In before Ford bashing)
richard the pissed
get the dodge! you've shown me on MSN it's really cheap, so go for it. and spares can be ordered from mopar online, so no worries. EDIT: the dodge charger is 25,000 real. CHEAP! Edited December 27, 2006 by richard the pissed
Gouveia
@Wayfarer:In Brazil, you can put a thing so the car runs with Gas(not gasoline) or with alcohol, and that's pretty cheap. The spareparts aren't a problem... I know a guy that remakes/fixes car parts and do some paintjobs. @Simply:Yep, they're much cheap! Here are the prices: Charger:R$25,000.00(US$11,360.00) Mitsubishi:R$ 30,900.00(US$14,450.00) Mustang:R$28,000.00(US$12,727.00) As you all can see, they're cheap! PLEASE HELP! Gouveia
The gasoline prices are those: Petrol:R$2.45 Alcohol:R$1.75 LPG:R$1.20 The Alchohol makes the car handle worse, but there's no change on it with the LPG

EvilPenguin
What do you want to do with the car, and what else is available? (Honestly, neither of the three are really good cars. The Eclipse is outright sh*t, the Mustang is sh*t with tuner potential, a big V8, and RWD, and the Charger is a sh*t car with maaaaad pimp factor.) So, answer me, these questions three: 1) What will the car be used for? 2) Will you be modifying the car? 3) What do you need from the car? richard the pissed
how can you think a charger is sh*t? it's main prurpose is to be a very fast, awsome looking V8 family car, and it does it very well. the only possible downside is parking space and fuel cost, but seriously, who cares? he car isn't going to be modded. brazil sucks for stuff like that. @-slash: he means perform. Gouveia
@EvilPenguin:1-)Riding, showing it off, making big noise 2-)Nope, hard tunning isn't allowed in Brazil 3-)I need it to take me where I want @-Slash:Well, I think it's the Alcohol. The car loses acceleration and Torque. The LPG doesn't take too much, but takes a little of the performance. Both LPG and Alcohol are cheap, makes the car consume a little less of the combustive and they don't polute as petrol do. @Simply:Damn, I know that! Duders
I would either choose between the Mustang and the Eclipse. The Charger is just too big and bulky. Depends what kind of Mustang you are getting. If your just going for a V6 Mustang, just get the Eclipse. If you want V8 power, just get the Mustang. You'll go broke just by buying gas for the Charger.

It's a big, unforgiving V8 muscle car. Agreed though, you'd have to be clinically insane to buy one to use as a everyday car. It's as daft as lets say.. buying a 4x4 for the school run? If he's not worried about anything else and just wants a loud cruiser, this is what I'd reccomend. Nothing takes off ladies panties like old muscle cars with loud H pipes. epoxi
I would've probably chosen the Eclipse: to me the other two options are a bit fuel hungry, and are mid-life crisis cars in my opinion. However, I don't know how Americans look at muscle cars.
