Mouse flickering

... and makes me smash it on the table. So I think I need a new mouse. The problem is that there are X thousands of them, but which ones are the best? Right now I have some kind of Labtec optical mouse. I am thinking about wireless mouses, but dunno how much they cost. Please, suggest me anything but Dell and Labtec mouses.

Have you checked the laser. Sometimes it might have hair or dust on it.

I think I would need to clean it... And it also acts different with and without the thing you put under them. Mouse pads? Without it, the mouse doesn't flicker at all. With it sometimes goes like crazy. That is really bothering.

Does it flicker all the time, or just when you run certain applications?

I know I used to have a problem when I played certain games it flickered alot, never really found the problem.

If you want a new Mouse, go for the Best the Logitech G5, or if you want Wireless, go for the G7, otherwise, open up your current mouse and clean the part where the LED shines into.

MX518 is better than the G5 imho, I've got 3 of the former (don't ask) and my friend has a G5.. I'd still choose the MX518.

If you view a lot of media (especially when doing other things), I'd recommend a "Logitech MediaPlay". It's really nice for playing games while listening to music. When you're playing, you can switch to the next track without having to minimize it. It's also good for FPS games.

Hehe, I already have a keyboard with those capabilities. Play, pause, stop, next, previous, mute, master volume and launch the player.

It flickers all the time. Games, programs, paint , Firefox and everything else, but not all the time. Like now, it doesn't. Maybe after a few minutes it will. Who knows?

First of all, I'd recommend that you try and clean your mouse because they do flicker if they aren't clean. Some mouse mats that you can buy aren't really good, the material that is on them can stick to the mouse. You said that the mouse goes crazy with a mouse mat, this may be the reason.

 

Otherwise, if that doesn't work, just buy a new mouse mate. Logitech are really good, for all PC Accessories; Keyboards, Mice, Headphones etc.
