Ok this topic is really just somewhere to tell everyone if your in a band of your own and to let people know about and to get some publicity. Any bands are allowed and if you have links to songs, downloads of your own or websites don't hesitate to post them too. We haven't come up with a decent enough name yet, and we have some songs but they suck and we don't really know what we're doing. The ultimate goal is some kind of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club & George Clinton cross-over, but soaked in acid. We're just finding our feet at the moment. I am the guitar man in my band. Every year there's a festival in brazil that accept only new bands that make covers. This year was the 4th time I went on it. We dont have any recorded songs yet but we play lamb of god songs alot, cause they're the shiz lol, and i dont really know what else to say about it. 8ballsoffire Posted December 31, 2006 Share Posted December 31, 2006 my band is a two man operation right now (except the other man is a girl). we're just writing songs for fun but i can't see it becoming a proper band just because of our personalities. we're both really reserved and only don't tend to discuss it when other people are around, and we're both pretty set in what we want done with the music and lyrics so it'd be hard to find people that we get along with and who'd do what we want done. that makes us sound like a couple of nazis. i do all the music and she does all the words, right now we're still in the process of finding "our sound". it's just a case of trying to get rid of as many cliches and cheesy lines as possible. i know what my influences are and i've already got a guitar style that's somewhat unique (although there are probably thousands out there making the same noise) but it's just a case of blending them and not sounding cliche. somewhere between the fall and belle and sebastian is what i'm aiming for. It took three minutes into our 'jam session' I don't even remember when it happened for us to figure out it wouldn't work. Still want to learn guitar though. Bass and regular. Well my band ain't got an official name or anything yet but we're hoping to get a page up on my space sometime this month, so eyou can hear some of our music. I'm the lead guitarist and we mainly play old style some of our influences are - Nirvana - Jimi - Zeppelin - and some other stuff ( Can't be bothered to remebered ). My dad's *old* band were also quite good if anyone wants to hear some of their stuff and i'll shove it on filefront or something - Woodside Now - They were based in Caithness in the town of Wick!
