saintdave
I shall be buying my own laptop very soon, its main use will be to play on the net and only one game. That game is Football Manager 2007. Before someone re-directs me to the gaming chat, hear me out. I’m not very knowledgeable in laptop details and what they do so I wanted to check certain things before buying either. The laptop I am considering is here. My question is will it be able to play a game with the following requirements - Minimum: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, 1GHz processor, 128MB RAMRec: Windows XP, AMD or Intel Dual Core 2GHz, 1GB RAM, 1024x768 32Bit display, 650MB HD Space
Pranjal
Yeah you can play Football Manager 2007 in this laptop although the recommended settings are a tad higher than its capabilities. Anyway Toshiba Satellite laptops are well known for gaming and multimedia purposes. So, good luck
saintdave
Thanks Pranjal, ideally I’m looking for one that will play it at a fairly decent speed but I’m not after a laptop solely for gaming purposes either. Either way I'll take my time selecting one I like that can play FM2007 at a good level.
adam schiller
What you could do is go to a computer store pick up the game then ask one of the assistants what laptops it will play on.That what I did with my laptop as I wanted it to be able to play BF2. If before you buy the laptop you buy the game you may be able to test the game on the laptop in store.
jarjar
I've lost all hope in Toshiba since my last laptop, the hard work and months it spend down the coast being fixed was pathetic, still it isn't fixed. For the amount of money spend on the repairs (paid by them) they could have given me a new one and still saved money several times over. I would not really recommend Toshiba, but since you chose them I will go to good side of it. First off, Toshiba Satellite laptops have been well-known to be an amazing laptop and system overall, however, I would always recommend looking around too. I did, my original choice for my new laptop was a Toshiba Satellite, but after looking around I found an ASUS laptop, which was better if not as good as the Toshiba Satellite laptop, and for a percentage of the price. So my message to you mate, would be to look around first, you may find a bargain just wait for ya .
saintdave
Thanks for the tips/advice everyone. Though the one I mentioned was Toshiba this isn’t necessarily the make of laptop I will definatly get. This was just one I noticed in a local computer shop and it was marked at a good price. Cran.
Yeah you can play Football Manager 2007 in this laptop although the recommended settings are a tad higher than its capabilities. Anyway Toshiba Satellite laptops are well known for gaming and multimedia purposes. So, good luck Haha.. first i've heard of it! That wouldn't be ideal for gaming, period. It doesn't have a proper dedicated graphics card, so if you want to play games, look for something with a dedicated graphics card. If you want something for gaming or anything to run games on, check out Rock. They have rebranded Clevo laptops, and they're about the best you can get for gaming. Hell, even Alienware rebrand them! I've got one myself, abet a much high spec than you'll probably be getting (again, branded differently over here also) and I love it. Best laptop i've ever had. Rock Direct The Pegasus 665 would be ideal for you. It has nVidia Go GeForce 7600 256MB which is a great midrange card for gaming. Pretty much any game would run flawlessly on it. I know, you say you'll only run one game on it.. But as time goes on.. @adam schiller maybe you could just learn to match two things; those two being the minimum specs needed to play the game and the specs of the computer/laptop. It's not hard.. seriously. FYI, they're not called assistants, they are salesmen. I wouldn't be surprised if they said you had to buy the most expensive laptop there to play games or something like that.
