I like the transmission & really wish I could buy a car with that sort of transmission for my first car. I like. Sorry for page stretch What ya'll think? The thing I've always loved about Mazda is that ALL of their cars (even the MPV Mazda 5) are fun to drive! Mazda goes out of its way to make good, practical, cars that are a hoot to toss around. lurchseesu420 Posted December 29, 2006 Share Posted December 29, 2006 while i like mazdas, the 3's just don't do it for me like the last protege's did. the 3's are just too big and heavy. my mom has a 2002 protege 5 and while a 3S hatchback might beat it in a straight line with its extra 30 hp, but on a curvy mountain road the protege would make it eat sh*t. that was the first thing we did we bought ours was take it up for a drive in the smoky mountains. it was blast when we weren't stuck behind some tourist pig f*cker.
