Samutz
Edit: Nevermind, this was just corrupting saves. See my 3rd post below. If I understand correctly, any version of SA will open a file from v2, correct? I decided to try to automate the conversion of save files from any version to v2. If this works then this file should open in v2 of SA: http://gtasnp.com/file.php/223/1/v2 (replace 1 with a different slot number if needed) The original file is actually made using my v1 (this is an unconverted version): http://gtasnp.com/file.php/223/1 If you download from the 2 links, you can see in a hex editor (or even in notepad) that the 2 files are different. However, I don't have a v2 copy of SA to test it. So what I need is a few people with v2 of SA (the actual game/exe, not just the scripts) to download and load the save from the first link and confirm if it works in v2 or not. If this works and what I asked in my first question is correct, then I'll make this feature automatic for all SA files. Samutz
Thanks. I just realized I forgot to use to v2 scripts to make the save. I'll post another one later. I updated the links in the first post with a new save. Made using v1 of the game, but v2 of the scripts. HerrieM
Hey Samutz, sorry to bother you but i think there is still a bug in you uploading system. When i upload a savegame it gets corrupted. ryan92 seems to have the same problem with the ones you uploaded for this test and in another topic there seems to be others aswell. Maybe you could take a look at it.
Samutz
I just read a PM from JAJ about it. It's actually my fault, and has to do with this v2 stuff I was testing. Here's a copy of my reply: It's fixed now. It seems the v2 converter I was testing was "converting" all files. But it's odd because I had it set to only do it to the files that have the /v2 on the end of their download link. And that was working fine the other day because when I compared the normal file and the /v2 file, they had different version IDs. But when I downloaded those 3 files, they all had the same v2 ID. Anyway, I removed the v2 stuff. And since the files were being modified when they are downloaded and not uploaded, the links will download the original files. I just tested it myself after removing the v2 stuff and they all loaded in SA without the corruption message. Thanks for letting me know. And sorry for all the trouble.
