Getting Hilary's Sabre

I know how to win, but I really want his bulletproof Sabre. I heard you can do something to get it. I tried getting him with the Rhino, but he just outruns me.

Try making him crash into a wall. That's how I won the race. Maybe you could use that to steal it.

 

However, that doesn't seem likely. The game would find some way to keep you from obtaining it bulletproof. Aren't you unable to get out of your Sentinel?

Wait for Hilary near the end of the race and hit him so his car blows up. Then push it back to a garage to save. Alternative Strategy: Finish the race side by side with Hilary and he will vanish. Pretty much right in front of the Malibu. I used spoilers in case someone doesn't want to know, although I reckon that's a bit unlikely given that VC is now more than 4 years old .

The Driver is, in my opinion, the hardest GTA mission ever.

I don't think you can get out of the sentinel.

You can. It's how I used to beat the mission - getting out of the Sentinel and immediately into a Stinger that I parked a little down the road (with its door open to ensure it stayed in the game's memory).

With the amount of good cars outside the Malibu why would you need to cheat? There's always a Cheetah (mind the pun!), a Comet or an Infernus driving around there.

 

That "door open" trick doesn't always work, as with GTA3. The cars are remembered if the game wants to remember it. I've had a Sabre Turbo (from Sunshine Autos not a spawned one) disappear from behind me by just by getting out of it to take out a helicopter.
