Yeah aslong as you either have the internet connected to the 360 or download the update from Xbox.com which allows you to play Halo and other original xbox games! Then you will need to burn a cd of an update! Scroll down until you see "Download the Original Xbox Game Support December 2006 update here." and just follow the instructions! JayC
Even the "cheap" version will connect to the internet over ethernet. Also, lol at phew.
GTA3Rockstar
Even the "cheap" version will connect to the internet over ethernet. Also, lol at phew. Yeah but hes not getting the one with the cable! Just the core system!
The Bone County Butcher
If im not mistaken, Halo 2 already plays on the 360 without the need for a download.....
All this Crap
The core 360 does not support backwards compatibility without the hard drive so if you want to play Xbox games get the premium.
BCspeed34
Okay, heres how it goes. If you have a core version, like me, you will need to find an ethernet cable lying around your home and insert it into your modem. If your modem is wireless, you can purchase the XBOX 360 wireless adapter for a rediculous $100 USD. If you plan on playing the old games, you will also need an XBOX 360 HDD which retails for $100 USD as well. A MUCH better value than the adapter. From there on (once you have both of those), create an XBOX Live account. Silver is free and you can do updates and scores and stuff, but with gold you can play with other people worldwide. For what its worth, ask you parents for the reciept and take it back and save up for the Premium version. For what the HDD costs, you get an ethernet cable, a wireless controller, a remote, and your very own headset to use on XBOX Live. ________________________________________ 専車SODO-MOTO International Vehicle Importers
GTA3Freak-2001
Be warned though, not every Xbox1 game can be played, you should check the Backwards Compatibility List on the 360 website to see if the games you want to play are there. Most games are supported such as Halo 2 but you may find a few good games aren't on the list.
darthYENIK
That's what I was going to ask, "what games don't play?" Here is the link. Make sure to read the notices at the bottom. The only game I have that I'm sad is not compatible, is Elder scrolls III. But Elder Scrolls IV is plenty to make me forget it's predecessor. I think I'm ready to sell my Xbox now. GTA3Freak-2001
I am most annoyed that Rallisport Challenge 2 not being supported yet the older Rallisport Challenge is. Figure that one out!

Parky.
I'm not sure, but I think you might need the latest update, the November one is it? Without a DVD-RW you can't really do it without Live though
