Is it possible to use variables to place objects? Like have moveto(x, y, z) and the letters being a variable?

Sure. It's all script code. You could actually do some geometrical objects that way, like tubes and spheres and stuff.

Looks like it's time to introduce the new selectobject and propagateobject functions. To move an object once it's created, CD has to scan through memory and move any copies the game has made. One of the copies is the solid part, another is the visible part. That's what Construction Mode is doing when you're positioning an object and it prints that number on the right which is how many copies it found. In 2.3 I added functions to access this functionality to make my Push a Building cheat:

To get Vette's idea to work, I needed one more thing. You can download 2.3a here:

It adds a return value to the object function so you can get a pointer to the object you created.

 

To use them, call selectobject with the pointer to your object, make changes to the object's position (or orientation if you know how), then call propagateobject() to propagate your changes to the copies.

 

Moving a block underneath you works pretty well:

I made alittle elevator, (anyone may use it in theire mods, if they wish)

 

up and down on the dpad controls it, it will only move if you stand on it.

 

also using 333mhz is recommended

I also found a small bug in the new version, whenever running a code that is moving an object, and you only have 1 cheat in the file (havn't tested with more) then the ON part of the cheat name appears a few lines under the cheatname, I belive it's the number showing how many objects it draws fault.

id probaby sound like an idiot for this , but is it possible to import a new map into gta? like a map from other games e.g. midnight club la remix or test drive unlimited?

I don't think this bump was necessairy...

Anyways, It's not possible to import anything to the img files of VCS since the model files seem to be different from those of the old PC/PS2 GTA's.

 

So no map or vehicle mods for VCS...

 

The closest thing to a map editor would be the Cheatdevices Construction Mode, I guess.

But you probably knew that anyways. smile.gif

I don't think so, but you could always cross check it against the list if you were that bothered.
