Hi everybody. After working so hard at Speed Island i feel bored of it and i need to work on new ideas and smaller maps. Well, what i want now is start using the VALVE source engine as Counter Strike Source. Well, as a de_dust lover i am, here is my attempt of a arabian map styled:

Its still at 30% rolleyes.gif Without any lighting effect or shadows. I will make everything

Looks nice, I bet it will be fun! I know this sounds stupid, but maybe you could make it a map suitable for quick short races on it (MTA) AND deathmatches (SAMP) smile.gif

Looking sexy Leviatan, with shadows and vegetation it will look awesome.

Yeah, i hope so. I will make the GTA version with the lightning made with 3d studio, shadowing an stuff. I still need to learn a lot about Half Life Source engine and its editor. The lighting there is with its own Radiosity System, not with 3ds. At the moment i am workinw with HL1 engine (for learning). I hope to be lucky tounge.gif

This looks so f*cking awesome, just so perfect.

It all fits, the modeling, the textures, the environment.

Jezus, I could never do that. Or maybe I can but it would take too many hours of my precious life tounge.gif .

Keep it up man!

 

Still one negative comment, the roof texture in that tunnel doesn't look as sharp as the rest of the textures. In compare with the sharp wall and floor textures it looks kinda odd.

Hehe, well, i dont know. Maybe i just will make some sand dunes around the CLOSED map, as De_Dust of Counter Strike. At the moment, i am not modeling so much, i am still learning about valve source engine

 

You GTA Rusia is the BEST GTA MOD ever made, believe me, the best. I must to see your work more often, i have no time and i have seen it a few of times. But, really, completely professional. You just need a legal engine to sale it. You should earn some money with it. Its too good to give it free biggrin.gif

I think it would be cool if you made small, arena-sized maps. In that wasy you finish before you get bored and you can release them faster, wich is what everyone wants

Hehehe, yeah, only a few. Well, it have really nice maps, its true. But i am using COunter Strike De_dust map as inspiration. I will play Battlefield too tounge.gif

Is Half Life 2's engine easier for map modding?

MMmm..it deppends what you are doing. If you just want to model stupid boxes, you can use its Hammer Editor, and that´s all what you need. But, if you want to add your own models, the skill turns harder than GTA. There are some laws when you are modeling. For example, you cant make convex polygons or opened meshes confused.gif

 

So GTA is more free for modeling whatever you want, but half life engine allow you to use amazing lighting effects and much more stuff. But, for example, it havent got any car...

 

As you can see, every engine has got its own good and bad things

Aha, it would be really nice. Maybe it would be a nice idea to join some more little maps, my maps and ParoXum ones to join it on a New total conversion made for MULTIPLAYER mode
