WILLY1
I have windows xp. Everytime I click on any icon on my computer it will not load up, all it does is make a purple line through the middle of the screen. Then all the the stuff on the screen goes away. Including the start bar and i have to restart my computer. does anyone know how to fix this?
jarjar
How so? Icons (.ico) don't open up with any default windows applications, that includes Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. They require other applications to view them.
riccbhard
I think he means when he is trying to start a program via a shortcut. The pink line I am not sure of, but the disappearing of the icons and the Taskbar is Windows Explorer crashing, and if the system is still responsive, can be started back up by: Open the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) Click Applications Click New Task Enter: explorer.exe and click OK. Other than that, this issue has me completely confused
