Big Slow
Well, after 40 posted the video of Andy Mckee, I started browsing around candyrat (the label he's signed to) and found a bunch of great artists with some truly amazing songs. Ever since that, my love affair with acoustic guitar has only grown, and I was hoping for some suggestions on who to check out in regards to this incredible genre. Canoxa
Elliott Smith I was trying to remember his name since this thread was created. He's a indie artist that sings and plays on his acoustic. He committed suicide in 2003. I'd definitely go for it!

8ballsoffire
the last two albums i bought were chelsea girl by Nico and ballad of the broken seas by Isobel Campbell, both are really good acoustic albums. ballad of the broken seas has one or two electric guitars on a couple of tracks but apart from that it's all acoustic. you can't go wrong with early dylan, get the freewheelin bob dylan, one of my top 10 albums of all time. if you're looking for a bit of virtuoso stuff check out martin taylor. he does solo acoustic arrangements of jazz songs (he's starting to do quite a bit of folk as well) and is just utterly unbelievable. i saw him play live and it was one of the most astonishing things i've ever seen, the improvs he was with himself would make many jazz bands hang their heads in shame. on the singer/songwriter acoustic side i have to mention pete doherty. no wait, come back, honestly i'm telling the truth. publicity stunts and bad haircuts aside the man has written quite a few good tunes and there are literaly hundreds of versions freely available out there (there's a site that lets you get them all legally and for free as well). his acoustic performances are the bare bones of the libertines, which was classic songwriting, none of the sh*t surrounding them matters, it's just the music. Hurricane5
Seriously, Check out John Frusciante. Especially his 2005 album, "Curtains".
TheDude5000
I would recommend Alice In Chains "Jar Of Flies" acoustic EP. Check out the music videos for "No Excuses" and "I Stay Away". Also, check out their fantastic Unplugged performance. Also, Nirvana had an incredible Unplugged performance back in '93, check it out. "Dumb" and "All Apologies" from In Utero are good acoustic tracks(if my memory serves me right) too. I know they're not really "acoustic" artists, but both of these bands had fine acoustic material and great acoustic performances of their acoustic and electric material. That's a lot of acoustic. Tryst
Seriously, Check out John Frusciante. Especially his 2005 album, "Curtains". Most definatly John, he's sexy. The Prize Fighter Inferno has a few decent acoustic songs (nothing really memorable though) Black Lable Society has Kings of Damnation: Era 1998 - 2004. That has some excellent acoustic song, and some with Zakk playing on the banjo. Days of the New's First album is pretty good acoustic stuff too. Also if you can find it, Kiss acoustic. I have a live bootleg they did at some small club. Its beautifull. Art Dela Me-+-Ze Music Le Me
makeshyft
As someone said earlier, Alice in Chains Unplugged. This has been one of my favourite albums for over a decade. The first Days of the New album was pretty cool too.
