Problems with my a/c

So yeah.

 

I've got a 94 Toyota corolla with everything... leather seats, 15" wheels, power windows, power locks, alarm and a/c.

 

My pops said it needed freion so I bought the stuff and installed. There's the hot/cool switch and there's the a/c button to turn it on. That a/c button had a light which turned on when pressed. I installed the freion, but the light dosent turn on now that everything is ready.

 

I checked the wires and fuses, everything's in order. What do you guys think wassup?

Does the AC actually work despite a lack of the AC light?

 

If so, the lights done broke - check connections again.

 

If not, check connections again. Since the lights not on I'm going to assume the AC system isn't getting the signal from the controls to turn on and neither is the light. Fiddle with the electronics.

Merc's actually have a bottle which is like a fridge, this controls the a/c.

 

Maybe your car has the same feature, might be running low.

Me too.

 

I done pulled the dashboard out of teh car, and checked. everything is ok, wiring, fuses, all the works. I went to a dealer, and that single piece costs 180 dollars. Sucks man.

 

It aint the light only, cause the a/c aint going cold.

It's worth a try, check if your car has like a filter bottle for the air conditioning...

 

It may be low, meaning that your getting warm air, instead of cold.

That's the Freon bottle. I bought a new one and put it in. But sadly, I have to buy this f*ckin 180 dollar button.

Nope. It is the button that I have to buy, but it's too expensive.

Yeh, I'm gonna try to open the button and see if i can try to fix it, or f*ck it up more.

pull out the button and solder on a SPST swich ghetto style.
