Moogle7
Hello. I recently purchased Vice City. I installed the game, everything went well. But when I am ingame, the audio echoes and jumps, on the radio and in the cutscenes. Not only that but I cannot hear sound effects, ie. Jumping, running, Shooting a weapon. My specs are: 128mb ATI Radeon 9200 Series. 800Mhz Pentium 3 Processor. 80GB Hardrive. Could somebody please help? I have tried everything and this bug is really annoying me. Justin
Check the pinned bug list? Problem 17? Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Sound tab, and move the hardware acceleration slider to a new position. Test and repeat as necessary.
Ben
Do you have any sound bugs with any other programs/games? Because it sounds like your sound card doesn't support hardware buffering. I had this problem too a while ago - I tried to update my drivers but it wouldn't let me (somehow they'd become corrupted I think). Anyway, the problem was fixed when I got a new HD and had to reinstall everything onto it. So, short of getting a new sound card or HD, I don't really know how you might be able to fix your problem . Sorry. EDIT - Damn Fuzzy and his fast posting .
