vint_cool Posted December 19, 2006 Share Posted December 19, 2006 Hi, I'm unable to play any VCD's on my xbox 360. When I put in my VCD, it just says - "mixed media disc" and stays silent ! BTW, these VCDs are fully original sony vcds and not pirated ones either ! Guys please help me out....from x360 manual, its supposed to play any type of cd ! So why am I getting this error? TheDude5000 Posted December 19, 2006 Share Posted December 19, 2006 I don't think VCD's work. Instead, burn a data disc. Make sure you get a .wmv video file and burn it to the disc. The 360 only reads .wmv files, not .mpeg, .avi, VCD files, and others.. I have a CD-R sitting right next to me which has a .wmv file in it, and it plays just fine on my 360. GTA3Freak-2001 Posted December 20, 2006 Share Posted December 20, 2006 Because its MS they have only allowed the console to play .wmv files, you can however use some programs that can allow you to stream more then just .wmv files from your PC but I haven't tried them.
