DarthSlurpee
In my opinion, Grand Theft Auto games are best played on the PC. It's just not the same for me to play it on a console.

ToAsTmAn911
Another question... i was just looking at the other topics and saw a whole bunch of things about mp3s. can you like put your own music onto the game?
Ben
Yep. Just whack them in your mp3 folder in your main VC folder .
Knowledge Novice
At one time I thought that the PS2 was the only way to go, but on the PC you have so much more control over your game. You can easily modify it to suit your changing interests and the fact that you can add your own music to the mp3 file makes it all the sweeter. Personally, the only real advantage of PS2 over PC was that you had the game controller instead of the more cumbersome keyboard. Or is there a PS type controller for use on the PC? I've wondered, but never known.
Pat
Is there a PS type controller for use on the PC? I've wondered, but never known. Alot of companies have made PC gamepads that are almost exactly like PS2 controllers, minus the Sony logo in the middle. You can get one on eBay and certain stores like BestBuy for around $20. But with Vice City, I don't think you'll want one. I have one (Not styled like a PS2 controller, just a gamepad) and when I try to redefine the controlls, it won't let me. Plus, if I try to use it the way it's already set up, it still won't work. And it's not my USB ports, they work fine with everything like my eyetoy (Using a driver to use it as a webcam), my USB headset, and it even works on GTAIII. On topic: I would highly recomend it. They have it at our Walmart for ten bucks, so you really can't lose. If you do get it, try out VCMP (Vice City Multiplayer) 0.3 before installing any mods. I swear, VCMP is increadibly addictive. Plus, there's alot of noobs (No offense) on SAMP, all the classic really good people tend to stay on VCMP. Can't beat Vice City, I guess.
deadman28
Its great on PC trust me get it lol!!!! GET IT!!! Anyways you can play online for it but I doubt most people will be on it because most of GTA PC fans will be playing SA so its really up to you even though its well worth the modding and excitement! WillzyyyGTA
I also had Vice city on a console, but XBOX, I then got it on PC, and man is it worth it!!!!
Heihachi_73
I'd say get it - however with GTA3, I actually prefer it on the PS2; too many strange additions are on the PC version, like the car-damaging boxes in the alley in Chinatown (or was the PS2 map modified?). I have 2 copies of the "weakened" Australian version, one platinum and a picture disc. The PC version was much cheaper though (second hand price was $9 AU instead of $19.95+ for the PS2). One thing with the PC versions is that you have the option of mouse controlled aiming and strafing, rather than using the analog sticks for aiming, which is either slow or inaccurate when it comes to close-up sniping. However you can also map a controller if you prefer that (better for driving and flying). On the down side the joypad's directional buttons are hard mapped, but anything beats the miserable controls for the PC reincarnation of San Andreas. ViceCityMamba80
vice city is worth the price on any system. i actually had it for pc first and then i bought it for xbox and modded it on my xbox, so i get the best of both worlds. trust everyone here, BUY IT! Vito Leone
YES! Please, dont spam my man. I don't like spammers. You too Urbanlegend. If you dont have something productive to say, dont write it at all. Vice City is very worth buying. Even though GTA3 is better. And it's not that expensive anymore. omega_c
Absolutely, get it. The cheats are easier to remember (they're all words). If you're used to ps2 controllers, then get a ps2 style controller. I think that was mentioned already. I use one, and when I have to snipe, or aim well, I use the mouse. It makes driving, esp. motorcyles a lot easier (stoppies!!!). Mods. You can change the music that plays in the game. You can change the skins... everything. It's a lot more variable than the other console versions, in my opinion.
