luigismafia
I cant pass unique stunt #9, the one staircase by the White Stallionz bar. Its the very last thing I need to complete the game 100% and I cant seem to get enough speed for it cause the space to build up speed is shorter than what you have to jump across. saintdave
This is a tricky jump, there are key factors in this like many other jumps. Firstly make sure you back up as far as you can, second make sure you are using a PCJ 600 and thirdly as you speed towards the ramp, lean forward for extra speed. To complete the stunt you must jump the channel and land on the landmass to the north.

monkeyboykev
This might sound silly - but how do you lean forward?? Is this the same as pushing up on the directional 'thingy' (cant think of the correct name ) and Vic looks like he's standing??
saintdave
Yes mate, to lean forward is basically to stand up while on the bike. You’ll notice in mid air if you lean forward/stand up the bike with tip forwards

spencerdrake
I have been stuck on this jump also, I have tried a PJC 600 and tried leaning forward but I still can't get it to work! Do you have to clear the building? Is there a floating vehicles cheat that I could try. It's not just me I have a friend who is stuck on the same one! jkk
Cheers fella, i'm having real problems with most unique jumps and the sheer fact that i can never seem to get enough speed. In that case I would do some leaning practicing. Get a PCJ and race the coastal road attempting to get the best possible lean, bearing in mind that for some insane reason the game was designed so that if you try and lean all the way, you actually stand up on the bike thus doing the opposite of a lean. Try to hold your lean even as the road curves, you weave between cars, and so on. My ability to knock out unique jumps improved a great deal when I learned to remain leaned even during minor course corrections and big turns. Also remember that all course corrections cost you speed. All time when your rear wheel is not in contact with pavement (including time airborne) costs you speed, depending on the surface. The ideal perfect max speed run would involve a long stretch of perfectly straight pavement with no minor jumplets to remove your wheel from road contact, no grass, and nothing to dodge around. I find that most of the harder jumps are cleared on the run when I happen to line up so well, and have so few course changes, that I'm basically in full lean and acceleration the entire run. genex
This is the last one of 36 unique jumps of mine! Been trying for many times and failed. thanks saintdave for help!
*_ash_*
Is the jump the same on the PSP does anyone know? The advice here doesn't seem to match the jump that I'm stuck on. Do you have to go down that narrow alleyway on the PS2 version? I've seen a screen shot of the PS2 version, and it looks like a different set of stairs than the one I'm jumping off I must be doing it right (or wrong as I'm finding) because everytime I try to jump over the building, I get the message 'UNIQUE JUMP FAILED' *sigh*
GTA Phreak
If you get "Unique Stunt Failed" message then you are using the right ramp. If you get the message before landing then you're not hitting the ramp properly or more likely touching the edge of the roof. If you get it after landing then you're not getting enough distance, the required distance is ~38 m. but the insane distance measurements is a bit dodgy. This is how it looks like on PS2 Video (3 different bikes used)
BixDugan
If you need to, take a bike to the airport or other open space. By pushing the left stick (or PSP nub) all the way up, the rider is trying to stand up on the pegs. This is done for "Stoppies", or sometimes is helpful on steep stasir or terrain, so the back wheel gets more"bite". It is bad for best speed, with all that wind resistance. But we are talking about SLIGHTLY leaning forward, which makes the rider duck his head down (a visual clue) to cut wind resistance, resulting in better speed. If you listen to the RPMs of the engine, you'll notice a higher pitch (faster) when done properly. And the advice to make as few steering corrections as possible is right on. On the jump in question, I recommend a Biker Angel. Slight lean forward on the approach, and then pull back (down) when you hit the stairs, to help change the direction upwards.
