The reason you do not see anyone on kai playing GTA is because in both LCS and VCS, the SSID of the in game adhoc mode is random each time. The game has 2 ssids. One is the lobby SSID which is static value. So everyone will be able to see each other in the lobby (true for LCS or VCS). However after the lobby loads the SSID of the host is randomly changed. This new random ssid has to be communicated from the host to the client. This does not happen fast enough on Kai and so GTA kills the client connections before the game even loads. What I mention is true for wifi max which is what many use on kai. A novel attempt was made to hack the game to be playable on kai. Method involved hacking the 2nd randomly generated in game SSID to a static value. This was successfully done. It was accomplished by viewing a couple memory dumps of the lobby made by cw cheat. This random generated SSID is stored in the lobby dump at a couple of offsets. So it was modified to a fixed value. This allowed the game to play on kai via wifi max and players made it to in game for VCS. However the matches only lasted like 10 seconds for some reason then the client psps would disconnect. Perhaps the game has a low threshold for lag tolerance. A method to potentially fix this 10 second disconnections is to identify the region in multiplayer memory that controls time-outs. If this is accomplished it should make the game playable on kai. However most would have given up on VCS multi on kai by the time that happens unless some GTA uber pro looks at the dumps and fixes it for us Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yeah well the PSP is a lot harder to mod a game than it is to mod a computer. PSP isnt easy to hack computers are. Also playing online is a heck of a lot easier on pc. We should just be grateful we are able to cheat and mod in these games thanks to masterminds like edisoncarter. I know I could never do any of the stuff they've done with my current knowledge of computer programming etc. So I think we shouldnt be demanding anything.
