Muffins Posted December 14, 2006 Share Posted December 14, 2006 well my bro managed to load my other computer with spyware. I've lost task manager and backgrounds and everything! I've tried to get AVG and AVG Spyware to remove the files but they refuse to delete or heal. I'm backing everything up right now for a fresh formating. Fozzy Fozborne Posted December 14, 2006 Share Posted December 14, 2006 Most definitely run scans in safe mode (use Ad-Aware and Spybot, Search and Destroy). To boot in safe mode, turn on your computer, and when it comes up with the first screen (the name of the manufacturer of your computer, IE Dell, or your motherboard manufacturer), Press (in my case) F8. The next screen will come up asking how you want to boot, go to safe mode, or safe mode with networking. AVG, Ad-Aware, and Spybot should get rid of everything, making a reformat unnecessary.
