Hrimfaxi
I recently loaned my copy of Vice City for PS2 to my friend, and I got it back about a week later. Now, before I gave it to him, the game was in pristine condition, as its either been in the case of console, and treated carefully, no scratches or any damage whatsoever to the disc. Although, now when I play it, the loading screen is slightly slower as it halts while loading rather than shooting accross the screen, and sometimes the textures and stuff disappear briefly for a few moments. Am I overreacting about this? Are these little things I should come to terms with and eventually ignore? Would my game be restored to the way it was if I take it to a disc cleaners? Vice City is one of my top three favourite games, I don't want the CD to not be at peak condition and have messed up gameplay. If all hope is lost, can someone point me in the direction where I could get a brand new copy of a non-Greatest Hits version of the game?
Justin
Are these little things I should come to terms with and eventually ignore? 'tis what I did. In fact, I can't remember by PS2 version of VC ever loading smoothly. I'd probably smack your mate around a bit, but I wouldn't worry about the problem much. I prefer the actual gameplay to lightning load-times and such. I don't know if you'll be able to get a new copy, but may I suggest you look into getting it for PC? I've got an old, well over-used copy on PS2 in addition to a PC copy. It's worthwhile, and cheap as chips these days.

Once I get one of those fancy Intel ones in the near future, maybe.
