Boarding An Airliner

I see planes taking off and landing at the airport (PS2), but for some reason you need to be close to see them (you must basically be in the airport, or else they aren't visible, which was quite poorly done, as all other GTAs it seemed you could see them 3 islands away, well, GTA3 anyways).

 

And they appear out of nowhere and after taking off and banking to the left they disappear... I guess when they get far enough away from the character the game erases them to make the game run better or something. This probably happened on the PSP as well?

 

I even saw planes at the airport when the radio stated all air traffic movements were halted because of the hurricane that was coming... so I think they're just always there, regardless... Meh.

 

Someone try and board the plane...

nope, in the PSP version, they are visable in the sky, and way after they take off. guess it's just the PS2 version, which I don't have.

 

i'm going to try this. I tried it with a little willie, but that didn't work. bulldozer is next.

 

btw, WTf is up with the bulldozer's engine noise? it sounds like one from a sports car.

i used a helicopter but i couldn't get in i would just fall through the wing.can this only be done on the psp version?cause i got the ps2 version

YESS!! I finally did it. what I did is take the heli, jump out on top of the plane, and as it was taking off, ran like hell, and pressed triangle. ended up in the plane, but one odd thing is I entered on the LEFT side. It's also wierd how when you are up high everything is in that wierd mirror mode. What I mean is if you change views, and then look back, part of the plane's other view sticks until it is "overwritten" by something else.

 

btw, this was done with NO cheats, as i'm sitting on firmware 3.40.

In Vice City Stories you can fly the BiPlane and the skimmer and I've boarded the Jumbo Jet with a Ambulance

I'm bumping an old thread instead of starting a new one, so don't complain.

 

Just thought I'd confirm that you CAN board jumbos in the PS2 version.

 

-Get an Ambulance

-Park it on the main right hand runaway

-When the plane comes, jump on to the inner part of the wing from the top of the Ambulance & make your way to the outer edge of the wing

-Line yourself up with the center of the plane

-Start running forward towards the inner part of the plane (holding X) & while doing so rapidly press Triangle until you're inside the plane.

 

To get off the plane you have to wait for it to land again. When it does just press Triangle. Done.
