chance_max
Hello i recently bought sa and loved it so i thought i'd add vc to my collection also but ever since getting the game i get constant crashes and everytime it crashes it reboots also. I get the occasional bsod aswell. I've updated all drivers on my system to no avail. Is there any patches for this type of thing? I checked out the troubleshooting guide but i've tried everything there. My computer is fine, i have literaly hundreds of games without any problems like this. This one has really stumped me. I'm starting to think it just might be a compatability issue and am considering taking the game back to the store. My video card is ati radeon x1950 xtx with ccc 6-11 are there any known issues with this card or drivers? I have 2 gb of ram so i don't think freeing up resources is the answer. If anyone could help i'd be extremely grateful. Thanks a million Max. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/262873-constant-crashes/ Share on other sites

Grant
james200678 what on earth are you rambling on about? Seriously! Could you post the specs of your computer, this often helps us un troubleshooting peoples problems. And another thing, maybe try looking for the GTA Vice City V1.1 Official Patch. I think you can still actually download it from Rockstars website, if not, there's always GTA Garage and the rest, give that a whirl, it can't make things any worse now let's be honest. No, this is an unsupported patch addressing ONLY the video corruption error that has been since mended by all video card driver updates. There's no point in installing it, and it certainly can provide more harm than good. Justin
it is with sa Then keep it to SA Troubleshooting. On a side note, I doubt the need to reinstall your entire operating system to fix the crash... On topic: re-install your video card drivers; I played all the battlefields, americas army, and a bunch of other games, but neither VC nor SA would work until I reinstalled the driver. omega_c
Could someone please lock this topic? I get the feeling that these are all the same person. On topic: Re-install your video card drivers, post your specs (do this in another topic, run it through the Word spell checker, and post it. To find out your specs, go to start > run > type in dxdiag > hit enter > tell us what you see. Spuds725
There have been quite a few threads posted without the required help info. and we have become lax in not asking for this... please post the info requested in this (pinned) thread http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=114840 This will save everyone time as the same questions won't have to be asked every time. and take a look at the pinned bug list also before posting... omega_c
im sayin dat vice city on pc keeps on crashing and it also does it on ps2 when all my other games on ps2 are fine That has nothing to do with the game... It has to do with your game discs. If you bought them used, they probably had scratches. If you bought them new, they probably got scratched.
