max775
I have WinXP professional with SP2, 256mb ram 2.66ghz, Nvidia Geforce 6800GS 256mb graphic card and onboard sound. GTA San Andreas used to run perfectly but now for some reason I get to the game then the graphics go a bit funny then I get a black screen and the computer reboots. I have installed then removed a couple of programs since GTA was working, but have re-installed the game, downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia drivers for my card, tried deleting the .set files from my documents\gta san andreas\, tried disabling sound hardware accelerator in the directX9.0c panel, tried changing settings within the game but still keeps crashing. I can't figure it out it used to run fine. Can anyone shed some light please? Thanks in advance. Gordon
gillies
If you changed the video driver version in between the point that it was working and not working that is probably the problem. Fortunately all the old drivers are still available so you can try some older ones to see if that helps. Windows XP/2000 Driver Archive
fastvfr
My rig would reboot when I hit ramps on a bike...but only occasionally. Since updating the Creative AudigyLS sound card drivers it hasn't happened in probably 10 hours of gameplay. See if updating ALL the drivers helps you. Good luck!
