EMoney120
well with only about 11 days or so i think till christmas, i am still waiting. my mom got me the psp entertainment pack with the 1 gig and game and movie, u know, and i asked some person what firmware the psps in the entertainment pack will have he said maybe 2.71 or so, and maybe a TA-082 motherboard (i hope not). i am also getting this game, Grand theft auto vice city stories. so if my psp has 2.71 like believed (and a non TA-082 motherboard), im stuck on wat i should do. Should i downgrade to 1.5 and upgrade to 2.71 SE-B'' or C whatever and be able to use the cheatdevice, or should i just upgrade to the latest firmware to play gta vcs without any problems and forget about the cheatdevice?. im stuck because i dont want to RISK Bricking my psp on christmas day wanting to play vcs, but i want to use cheatdevice realllly badly, so idk what i should do, im thinking about downgrading anyway and upgrading to 2.71 SE-B w.e. but what do u guys think i should do? or what is the best thing to do? madbitch
the best thing to do? I'd say update to the newest firmware, eventually there will be a possibility to use homebrew on newer versions of firmware. you'll get new functions for your psp like ps3 linking, and photocamera options with the newest firmware, you never have to worry about bricking your psp, or breaking the law by downloading games and playing them illegally on your psp. if you really want to use cheatdevice and other homebrew applications, then downgrade. make up your mind, you already know the consequenses of doing either thing, so why ask us? kingvercetti
I'd say update to the newest firmware, eventually there will bea possibility to use homebrew on newer versions of firmware. Not neccessarily, only if there's an exploit, which there may not be. @Topic Starter: I would say, use the generic downgrader to downgrade to 1.5 and then DevHook to 3.02, and you can play VCS and all homebrew fine with CheatDevice, or use HEN_C or HEN_D, whichever is out, and use the DevHook ported for that. Both of those methods are practically brick free, and HEN will work even on a TA082 mobo.
Brutuz
DON'T UPGRADE! It isn't worth it, trust me I did and I regret it cause VCS is now boring for me.
EMoney120
ok so i can downgrade to 1.5 and use devhook to emulate 3.02, but how do i use cheatdevice with devhook 3.02? cuz i was thinking about flashing it to my psp with having 2.71 SE-B''

Pat
Don't get ahead of yourself now, or get your hopes up; if it's a new PSP, then it most likely will be on one of the new FW's, like 3.2, to keep you from downgrading, and using DevHook for homebrew and stuff. Just don't get your hopes up. Oh, and if by some freak accident your PSP bricks while downgrading, the only person you can blame is yourself for taking the risk. You've been warned it's possible to brick, so if it does, it was your fault for taking the risk. Just remember two things: 1.Make sure the battery is fully charged 2.If it isn't, WAIT UNTILL IT IS. Most people try to do it while their PSP is on the charger. If you pull that charger out on accident, guess what happens? Ninety nine percent chance you'll brick. I'm not saying there's a high risk of bricking, infact, there's a small chance. But it's possible. And plus, I said if the charger gets pulled out of the PSP/socket, not if you don't use it. @EMoney: There's really no way of telling, you'll just have to wait and find out. Swikity
Entertainment packs come with a ta-082 motherboard, so you can't downgrade, or you'll get bricked.

Seems they come with either of these: a) 2.60 Firmware and a ta-082 motherboard b) 2.80 and a (ta-082?) motherboard Either way, they are un-downgradable. Pat
If you're absolutely desperate for homebrew, you could just find someone on eBay selling one. Just make sure they have pics of the motherboard (To make sure it isn't TA-830 or whatever), and they have a feedback score of 98% or more, not to mention more than 100 comments. I've found less can lead to someone just giving themselves comments.
