TONS of Problems?

Hey people, I just got a new computer, apparently, it is ideal for gaming...

Well, after playing San Andreas for about 30 mins, stuffing around with the settings...

I have come to the conclusion that,

A) San Andreas is VERY VERY buggy

B) My new computer doesnt support it!? (LOL, I think that might be the one, but read my specs...)

My specs:

- Intel Core2 duo (2.33 MHz, I think)

- nVidia Go 7600 (Suposed to be 512mb DEDICATED memory, is it?)

- 1Gb of RAM

That should support it well? right?

Well, I try to set the game to 1680x1050x32 resolution, but the game LAGGGGGGGS

so I put it on 1680x1050x16, less lagg, but still laggs, and anything that's ????x????x16 has EXTREMLY wrong textures..

- Anything that is BLACK turns DARK GREEN

- The Sky has massive line through it

So, I put it on 1280x1024x32, still LAGGS, but not as much...

1024x768x32? PERFECT!!!

But, 1024x768x32 is what I had on my old PC with a 128MB GFX card?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Why? Got any suggestions?

U got a superb comp.......

and the clock speed should be 2.33 .......

I think this problem is due to a dual core processor coz most games aren't compatible with dual core processors.......

Try this......

Start San Andreas......

Then ALT+TAB out of the game.....

Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open task manager...

Go under processes tab and right click on gta_sa.exe and go to set affinity.....

Uncheck one of the CPU'S (either CPU 0 or CPU 1).....

That is u'll have to run the game on a single core ........

I think this will work for u........

(And I hope u r having dual channel memory i.e 512x2 MB RAM for perfect results.....)

Lol, i'm not sure about the duel channel, is there a way to check?

But, I think it's ok now, A update to V1.1 and Messing with the Game AND Nvidia settings, I have achived THE BEST!

All the setting maxxed out including resolution and colours and I get NO LAGG!

YAY! The Roads just cleared themselves up I think, unles V1.1 cleared it?

What are the DIS-advantages of V1.1? (I dont care about Hot Coffee)

I doubt that downgrading to v1.1 helped ur cause.....

Its most probably the fiddling with the game and nvidia settings ......

Anyways I'm happy for ya .......

BTW You can check if ur memory is single channel or dual channel by going into the BIOS .......

Ok, thanx...

I've got another topic about my GPU... "Is it 512MB or 256MB"

It's a nVidia GO7600 as you saw...

Anyone know?

Anyway, I didn't downgrade, I upgraded, I got SA V1.0 tounge.gif

Remember, GTA: SA requires you to have a DVD Rom drive on your PC or it won't even run.

When u move from V2 to V1 its called downgrading....

Unless u went out and bought a V1 game altogether which is what I think u did.....

Anyways regarding ur Geforce 7600 (is it GT or GTX)

I'm not sure if there is a GO version......

I'm sure that there are both 256 MB and 512 MB available...

Which company is it (XFX,BFGTech etc....)???

Besides u can check out on the box or in Nvidia Control Panel....

I bought the V1.0, I didn't downgrade anything...

And it's a GO7600, not a 7600GO, 'GO' is the abreviation nVidia uses for the GPU's in laptops, as in "On the GO" I think...

But, yeah, it's 256mb, I rang the seller, and he said that is DEFINATELY suposed to be 512mb, so he said he'll get me a new one with 512mb tounge.gif

I'd be happy with 256mb, but I need this laptop for another 3 years (at least), and in 2 years games will be saying

Minimum Requirements:

256MB Graphics Card

Anyway, it's all better now!

You did mean 2.2 GHz? Because 2.2 MHz would be great...for a computer 20 years ago. wink.gif Just checking, incase that's the problem. But it's fixed, so all is well, I guess!
