Mr.Robot Posted December 12, 2006 Share Posted December 12, 2006 I remember about a year ago the bigfoot myths were huge, rockstar games sent out a letter talking about the myths and saying that there false, and also saying that there was something in the woods. It was just a trick played by Rockstar to get people to waste their time by searching the game for...nothing basically! By the way, welcome to the Forums. Chilliad had something to do with the fact that their flight path wasn't put high enough by Rockstar. Which meant they sometimes flew into things. Im pretty sure I read this was the reason. Rockstar just added a touch of realism, with pilot-less planes ironically crashing near you. Sometimes, you see them above, and maybe crash somewhere in a nearby county. Yes, I'm sure that R* made the plains crash because there is nobody driving them. The flight pattern, and car patter, and ped pattern, etc. are designed to revolve around CJ. Tha's why you can see them. It has to do with all vehicles. And sometimes the planes crash because they were not made by R* to fly high enough, so they crash into tall buildings, Chiliad, etc. Also, if you notice, the veihcles, and peds, dissapear when they get far away from the playable character. I think it was just a smart marketing trick, something that could keep the players exploring the game and debating about it, thus extending its lifetime. If they were talking about something in the woods, it was the ghost Glendales. There is no bigfoot, leatherface, pigsy, ect. The game files have been checked over, over, over, and over again. During the mission where you take madd dog and chase OG LOC, we'd just gotten to the trees(I was gonna kill Madd Dog anyway to end the mission and take the bp/fp/ep/dp vortex) when a kamikazi came right for us! I fled, but poor Madd Dog was Killed. there is plenty of level ground there, so I just think they (as many have said, the game revolves around CJ) just got too close and crashed. just like the empty police cars that chase you, the AI is in the vehicles, not the drivers or pilots. Check out this video and tell me if what happens is the result of any conspiracy by kamikaze pilots. Simply put, the airplane paths are crappily made and rather randomized in my opinion, as it's not like planes pass by the same place at certain times or are refined to an area on the map, they rather spawn in the vicinity of the player, hence the amount of crashes.
