Tupac, king of westcoast rap to most people, is a New Yorker that earned loot when he was a drugdealer and backup dancer when his mother was a crackwhore junkie hahaha. Eastcoast won the war because Tupac was killed first. Only talents on westcoast are Cypress, IceT, Pharcyde and a couple of others that respected the east, and not trying to act hard like them fake ass studio gangsters NWgAy. f*ck COMPTON! You ain't a hiphop head listening to that garbage. From the east you learn, they're teaching the youth, while the west is messing their goddamn brains with that wannabe gangsta bullsh*t.. East created it, west is fakin it. Look at Snoop Doggy now, wearin stupid clothes and cowboy hats even singing in music videos. He's a f*ckin joke, music for 14 year old girls. Blingbling, cadies, hot women in video clips AIN'T HIPHOP. All the f*ckin fault of them westcoast cockroaches, media cocksucking commercial fags. KEEP IT STREET!!

Look out guys, I think that chip is falling off his shoulder. cry.gif

You're still runnin' your sorry ass mouth over a beef that ended 10 years ago? Get over it, kid. Both coasts have dope cats. If anything, mainstream wise, everything fell off, so get off your goddamn east coast high-horse.

Since this is a G-Funk/West Coast topic, I figure I might as well give a guys a head up on a video I've been working on since last night. I finally got my hands on a decent movie editing program, how I managed to do that is between me and myself. wink.gif Anyway, I've grown to, though I don't know how, to like a newer 2Pac song "Untouchable", the Swizz Beatz(sp?) version. So I've put together the first verse and half-way through his second, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the Bone Thugs verse, maybe. So yeah, I'll hopefully be working on other artists, beyond the Left Coast too, but for now I think I'll be focusing on my current project. Oh, and by the way, I have no previous editing experiences so please rip it apart if it's bad. tounge.gif Might have it posted here today in a couple hours...

Ice Cube is the best, lyrical genius!

Definitely a great with his story-raps, though I was sort of disappointed with his Laugh Now, Cry Later album. Still good, but I didn't think the beats suited his flow.

Oh, and Eminem isn't West Coast, he's from Detroit. But yeah, still a great artist, though I personally love his Infinite album. inlove.gif

Whoops sorry, forgot that its a Westcoast topic, oh well. biggrin.gif

His latest album wasn't too bad, it wasn't as good as his albums in the early 90's, but it was still pretty good. I'm hoping it isn't going to be his last album and him focus on his acting sad.gif . Hes still got gas left in the tank after 21 years of rapping, he needs to continue on his 'how he sees it' rap & lyrics!

i know what you mean i hope that wasn't Cubes last album either its just a shame That the Detox is gonna be Dre's last album it better be good but i think its gonna be a bit of a let down when they'll be 50 cent on it an other artists like that i hope he gets artists that have featured on his 2 previous LP's but if Dre is smart he'll get Hittman help him out because that guy has some great lyrics his stuffs hard to get hold of like from his solo career but i got a couple of his tracks like When It Comes To Hoes an Tha Hiznit but anyway the 2 tracks off the top of my head which are my favourates off Cubes last album were Chrome And Paint & Spittin Pollaseeds does anybody know where i can host music because i've made like this Westcoast Anthem its got a classic beat an alot of the best Westcoast artists i would of put others on it but there was barely any space left an Acapella's for some of the artists i would of put on it i just couldn't find

"New York only came back in Flavour of Love" ...

I mainly listen to West Coast stuff. East coast stuff is getting weaker by every album they put out over there. I mean if your hardest act is G-Unit something is seriously wrong. The Bay is producin talent and The Game is coming strong with his 2nd album. Snoop's album is dope and so is Cube's. Snoops track 'imagine' with Dre is dope as sh*t!

I listen to:

-Yukmouth

-E-40

-Messy Marv

-Game

-Dr. Dre

-Snoop Dogg

-2pac

-NWA

-Mac Dre (More of his old stuff)

-B-Legit

-Celly Cell

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the Bay Area, but is West Coast and it's just flat-out good music. I also liked Game's new album, definitely proved he can still shine without Dre and 50. I hoped someone would mention the "Imagine" track too, fu*king amazing song. inlove.gif

It would have been better to post it in the Official Hip Hop topic, but I don't think anywould object. I thought it was pretty good, but you can tell the limits on the production value. Also, what's with them and their hands? It's worse than KC & Jojo on the "Crazy" video. biggrin.gif

Yeah, I did manage to hear about him, haven't heard anything new from him in a while though. If you're even comparing the sound to G-Funk I'm gonna have to check it out. I'll post later on my thoughts about him.

I likedit somewhat, though it was mostly remixd tracks from what I could tell. But you were right, definitely reminiscent of the G-Funk sound. I didn't realize it was the same Techniec from LBC crew, figured it was some other cat who stole his name. I agree with you too, hopefully he'll drop an album with beats that sound like that.

Anyone hear the Snoop track 'Candy'? E-40, Daz, Kurupt, MC Eiht, and Goldi Loc are all one there. Nice Bay-L.A. Collab.

Candy is a good sound, but I don't think it's Hot as other things the West's put it out last year. It was great to see Daz and Kurupt on there, haven't seen Eiht in a while neither.

has anybody heard that track with Tha Realest & Crooked I - The Pressurez Of Man??? if not go get it if you can because its a pretty good rap an everyone sayin that Tha Realest is just a 2 Pac copycat is wrong an its got some pretty good verses from Crooked I on it aswell

I'm not a huge fan of the Tha Realest, though I do like some of Crooked I's work. To me Tha Realest just sounds as if he's trying to rap like Pac, though I'm not faulting him if that's how he delivers his lyrics. At least he's not attempting to emulate nearly every aspect of him, like some other artists out there...

Also, I posted it in the hip hop topic, but geez I just have to spread the love. I managed to finish up that Pac video was working on, here's the link. Though the resolution is very small and sometimes the video seems to turn fuzzy here and there, so you may need to squint. blush.gif

Oh, anybody anticipating Young Maylay's new mixtape coming out this year? biggrin.gif

Yeah, Life After Death is a masterpiece to say the least. Shame Big was lost in his prime, like so many other artists. Oh, and Snoop definitely isn't good as his Death Row days, but his track with Dre, "Imagine" is a great track, like I've mentioned a dozen times before. tounge.gif

there are a couple of other good tracks Snoops made after his Death Row days like Just Dippin an some of the stuff off the Blue Carpet Treatment like you said Imagine is a masterpiece proves after 15 years or so That The D.O.C. can still write some great lyrics but Crazy Featurin Julio G & Nate Dogg was pretty good along with L.A.X Featurin Ice Cube those 3 sh*t on the singles hes released really an Dre's Detox well i hope its a great album but i just hope he dosen't plaster 50 cent on nearly every track

Man, I used to love that song. But since my TV is constantly on something like MTV Jams or BET, the damn song came on like every half hour. biggrin.gif It also reminded me that I used to like R. Kelly, scary huh? tounge.gif

I like the game, I've been listening to his new disk in the car. I like how he isn't an ignorant ass bastard like 99% of other mainstream rappers. Plus a lot of his songs have important messages and he's just got a great flow.

Oh, word? Yeah, I heard you rushed him and snatched dude's chian. Punk-ass mothafu*ka. tounge.gif

Aside from that, I do agree with lesfleanut on his point saying that he isn't ignorant as most rappers out now. His East Coast flow is somewhat flawed though, in my opinion, sometimes he's sheer fire and on other days he's just name dropping over and over.
