Replace Toni's HEAD with Claude's - HOW? (VC)

I am in desperate need of help here, I want to replace the head of Tommy Vercetti only. I made a NEW young Claude for the 80's. This way we can have a Claude head for each model with Tommy's cloths and everything would work fine! I already made the model in Zmodeler aswell for the street wear but I can´t get it into the game (crash). Can anyone help me on how to do that? I can work best with Zmodeler but when I edited the Vercetti mesh and export it, the game crashes. What has to be done to my model to make it work correctly? Or does anyone else want to try this "replacement"? Thank you very much for any help in advance!

I meant Tommy Vercetti, sorry. I successfully "merged" two meshes from different dffs and got the newly created dff back in the game (using blender) but I can´t edit the mesh and then get it back in. Basically I now have the head of the Claude model for VC (a model someone from the community made) and I now have the body of Tommy without head. Both files in blender, both imported from the original dff´s and then edited in blender. Now I can´t export them back into dff, the export script gives me an error. If I can export them back I will be able to re-import one of those two files into the other and create a "merged" model with the combine objects command of blender. Well it´s all very confusing and time consuming right now. If ANYONE could maybe create a Tommy-streetwear model with Claude´s head this might be enough for the start.

Ok, what tools are actually needed to do this? Can all this be achieved in 3dsmax maybe? Is the exporting of playercharacters generally possible with 3dsmax? Well, it´s unbelievable but true - it seems that there is no single tutorial out there that simply explains how to export a playercharacter for vice city in 3dsmax 9 (only with rwexporter but that´s max 3 only as far as I know) please somebody help me so I can get this finished.

I just wanted to let you know that I finally got this working!! I used 3dsmax 9 and Kam's scripts. Only 3 models left to replace the head and I´m good to go! I will post a little tutorial soonn on how I got this done for anyone still interested.
