~Giggle~
Right, here's the deal. One of my friends has offered me his old PC (1.5 years) for £150. Specs: AMD Sempron 2.0GHz 512 MB DDR RAM 80GB Hard Disk ATI Radeon 9550 256MB Graphics card I know the processor is the weak link there but it's still better than the 1GHz Pentium 3 I have. So do you guys think it's a good deal? I think it's brilliant.
Loman
Yeah, it's a good deal. The hard drive and RAM would be worth almost that much, factor in the graphics card and it is well worth it. I just sold a PC for $200 that had a 2.5Ghz Celeron D, 256mb ram, 40GB hard drive, and no graphics card at all (other than the integrated). *gta star*
Well worth it mate, my last computer was 2 Ghz (Celeron) and it wasn't even all that slow, infact it was fairly fast.

HAHA, that's nothing, I sold a Dell 4300 about a month ago 1.6Ghz P4 (Willamette) Dead motherboard (primary IDE channel died) 768 MB of PC133 RAM Nvidia GeForce 2 64 MB (gave the 6200 to my friend) No hard drive Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Sound card Broken Samsung DVD-ROM drive (won't eject) Memorex 52x CD-RW Drive Price? 650 AMERICAN DOLLARS, no monitor included. He was more than happy to pay for it. Oh, and yes I did tell him upfront that barely anything worked on it.

I also forgot to mention that I sold him a OEM copy (yes, it does only work on one motherboard, which was shot) of Windows XP Home for $200... So, $850 for a computer that doesn't work. He's not even mad!!! Anyway, sorry for the off-topicness, but $200 for that computer is quite a good deal. The only question that I have is it a 2.0 GHz Sempron or a Sempron 2000+? There's a big difference there. So, let's see. Remove the Sempron and slide in a (assuming it's a socket 939) 3200+ for $62 (USD) or a 3500+ for $80, another half gig of RAM for $47, and maybe a 6600GT for $90 and you'd have a pretty decent gaming machine there for $499! Even if you keep it stock, it'll be a good machine.
goholden1
Yea take it. I dont see anything wrong with the Processor either. My 1.8Ghz AMD Sempron is faster then my 2.4Ghz P4. Overall its a good deal.

To be honest, I am fairly sure it is a 2GHz Sempron, I don't think he is the kind of guy to get them mixed up.
