Edmachine
My mom has this problem. Basically, when she wants to open ZIP files, one or other printer starts to print. What I want to know, is how to fix this. There must be a way to change what it does with certain files. She's using Windows XP. If you need to know anything else, then just ask. *gta star*
Right, what's your Printer status. Go to "Control Panel", then "Printers and Faxes". It should have a Printer with a black tick next to it, if there are two, you need to disable one of the pritners, I can help you with that aswell. Edmachine
That is not going to help. When a ZIP file is right-clicked, it shows: Print Open ... ... Any way to change it? Svip
Haha, good one! Someone messed up how Windows Explorer handles zip files. ;o Oh classic. Sorry, but it is quite amusing. Try checking how Windows Explorer handles zip files. Can't remember how though. See what application tries to launch it. Alternatively, you can install WinZip or another archive manager. This will likely fix it, as it will overwrite what application "mishandled" the file extension before. Hope that helps.

Fozzy Fozborne
Right-click a ZIP file, then go about half way down the options to "open with" then click on "Choose Program". It should come up with a screen that looks like the picture below. On the list, find the program you want to open with (I suggest Winzip). If that doesn't work, open any folder, click tools, folder options, then click on the "File types" tab. Scroll down to "ZIP", click advanced, then click "edit". Next, under "action" delete "print" and put in "open". Lastly, click browse, and use explorer to find Winzip. That should probably fix it.

Jevon
It's a firewire port. Probably comes with your sound card or motherboard.
