toastedhead
I dont think I should be having any issues right now. First here is the PC Pentium D Dual Core @ 3.00GHz 2 Gb SDRAM ATI Radeon x600 128Mb PCIx This covers performance right? I set up the game to run with these settings Draw Distance Full 1280 x 960 x 32 Detail Very High Anti Aliasing Off MIP mapping on Ok I DLed the latest catalyst for the ATI for XP, set up some crap with the new drivers and still I get choppy gaming. The only way it isnt choppy is if I set it to play 16bit instead of 32. I think Vista is sucking up too much RAM from both the PC and the video card. Im far exceeding the rec. specs for playing SA. Anyone got some opinions on this topic? Should I go back to XP? I did like it better anyways. One more Q, what exactly does Anti Aliasing do anyways? Pranjal
It has been already discussed before that since Microsoft Windows Vista has not been released to the customers yet and Vista is not listed in the supporting OSes of GTA series, it categorically rules you out from having any technical support from the game manufacturer or the OS manufacturer. My advise--revert back to XP. Anti-aliasing removes the jagged patterns in the game.

Firstly U got a rocking comp....... I too got a dual core but no external GPU..... So u having a problem of choppy gaming ??? Well try to ALT -tab out of the game then press CTRL-ALT-DELETE and go to processes tab under task manager..... Click on gta_sa.exe and right click, set affinity..... Uncheck one CPU from the list to disable one core.... It works for most dual core users....... It will also help to properly judge whether Vista is really bad for games or is it some comp problem ..........
toastedhead
I'll try what you said then San Anzeas. I didnt even know that was an option. I'll report back in case anyone else is playing with vista and having problems. Just so everyone knows, my copy of vista isnt a hacked or pirated copy. Its a RT1 of the customer evaluation program. I understand Im not supported which is why I came here to see if anyone else had some suggestions of what to do. Thank you San Anzeas.
