[SA][WIP] Mazda 6

hey guys, i've been around on this forum on an off for a while.. a year maybe, finally decided to post my WIP, which i'm hoping to finish before new years. well, this is the current status of the car:

 

Modeling:

pretty much done, just need to complete the following:

-exaust

-antenna

-rear view mirror

-damaged parts

 

Texturing:

-have to texture the whole interior

-some minor texturing to the outside, like door outlines, etc

-texture the engine

-texture the inside of trunk

-possibly, but highly doubt it, texture the underbody

 

once all that is complete, i think i can start setting the dummies, and tune the handling, and choose appropriate colors

Holy sh*tcakes on fire. Even though I'm not particulary fond of Mazdas, that's a freaking masterpiece of modelling right there.

Doesn't look like this guy has the mind to rice it, And that's a good thing. Congrats maan, maybe you can make an MPS version after this is done

thanks you guys for the postive feedback, and dont worry, no rice on this one, it doesnt fit the car's personality if you know what i mean.

 

btw, both MPS and GT models are in consideration after i get this car in game. This is my first car to go into san andreas, so i still need to figure out a few things. i made a few cars for vice city in the past, and i realized that for san andreas its different, for example with the rims, and the collision, and so on, so i'll have to poke around deeper in this forum to figure out how to do those, lol

 

and also, if you guys have suggestions and/or tips, please feel free to drop them here

I really love the current line-up of Mazdas, the 6, the 3 and even the 2 in their respective MPS flavours so its great to see a quality and hopefully non-riced to hell model of one.

 

One thing bothers me atm, the badge at the front is a bit odd I dunno if its the texture or what but it sticks out for me.

about the badge, it sticks out just the right amount like the real one, what might be wrong (which i got too lazy to fix) is the fact that the top chrome part has to bend outwards just where teh badge is, so it covers the part where it shows that it sticks out.. so take another look, and if that is in fact whats bothering you, i'll add it to the list of parts to finish modelling

personally.. i want to have teh best possible mazda 6 model for san andreas out there, lol, yeah yeah, i have wild dreams, lol, there's always somebody out there that will show up with something better

I agree, I think that is the effect of the photo-realistic texture with the rendered paint, tho.

Yeah you are probably right its the photo texture that looks a bit odd, I guess that's the best texture you could find?

If you've managed to do some cars to VC already then it's not that hard to put that one to SA. Only material settings are different and some objects are named tad different.

@flashg, thanks man, the naming and heirachy i'm sure its not hard, although i could use a screenshot of some ones heirchay just to make sure i get the name right, you think its possibly for you to screenshot your heirarchy and send me?? thanks man

 

@gta3freak, i've done some texturing search yesterday, and i think i found a better texture, its also photo realistic, but i think it'll do the job much better then what i have now

 

in a couple of days i'l post a few updates... i want to get the interior textured asap, lol

Sure I can or you can check the hierarchy from the original SA car. For example the car you are gonna replace smile.gif

alright, i'm in a small dilemma here, so here we go: public question.. since this car is going to be released and i'm assuming majority of you out there want a copy of this car.. i need to decide which taillights to keep.. the black on teh left, or the red on the right.. so ppl, lets hear your voice in it, which tail light would you prefer to have on this car in the game?

 

this is totally up to you, the taillight with the most voices will be the one released

everything looks percert on the car the lights r the same as the real model of the car lights and the shape is the very same size as normal so what will ur next project be a mazda 4WD or even a mazda 3 or mazda hatchback edition.

Yeah go the black tailights, you could also do the silver variation as seen on some of the more basic versions of the Mazda 6 here in Australia as I don't know if you guys have them.

thanks guys for putting in your opinions, this is leaning very heavily towards the black lights.. infact... i'll make it final right now.. the model will be released with black lights biggrin.gif lol..

 

GTA3Freak.. i know exactly which lights you are talking about, here in canada we have the red and black.. i doubt i'll make the silver ones

 

@zombieboy... lol.. i dont know yet what my next car will be, but i'll let you know for sure, once i start the new project, i'll post here again, i havent seen a decent mazda 3 for the game.. infact, i havent seen ANY mazda 3 for the game, so i'm probably going to do that, probably the sedan version.. or maybe both, only time will tell

 

PS.. did some texturing.. update in a couple of minutes

Nope we don't have the black tailights for the mazda 6 in australia if u asked

I was just looking on Mazda's website and there is what looks like a photo of the coupe model with the black backed twilights. I admit that its possible it was the lighting that made it look black.

@GTA3Freak.. well.. its not black.. but its not silver.. some where in between.. and its NICE, me likes a lot

 

 

anyways.. here are the small updates..

 

Update:

-steering wheel texture

-gauge cluster texture

-center concole texture

-shift stick texture

-carpet texture (both in car and in trunk, and the inside of the trunk LID)

-both taillights are now the black verision

@n3wton.. yeah.. i know that.. and thats how my model is, but i guess its so black that you cant see the glass.. tell you what, when i get on my desktop (b/c its the comp that has the z3d file) i'll put some reflections on the cover, and brighten up the blackness of teh taillight housing so you'll see its in fact the inside thats black, not the cover

when you said that, do you mean the taillights (rear lights of the car) being silver?? or did you mean the headlights (front lights of the car) with silver headlight housing??

@n3wton.. hey dude.. here's what i promised.. i added reflections to the car, and to the lights and everything.. and now you can see that its the inside that's black.. and the lenses are clear
