thgirw_mas
yea the poms are really playing bad this year. if they keep playing like they are theres no way the ashes are goin back to the U.K
JoeyLeone25
Yea, been a poor start so far for England, bar Pietersen and Colly who have done something with the bat and Flinty, who got a few wickets. Adelaide should be interesting, especially if that knobjockey Fletcher chooses both Giles and Monty. /cheap plug of my Ashes video's... Justin
I'll be surprised if we don't win them back this year. In fact, I'd go so far as to publicly predict a 5 - 0 series win to the Aussies, but we all know where that got us last time... owait
kingzing
News Just-in: Pfft. As if Australia *could* lose. Our team should get a reserved parking space because we have the disability of not being able to lose. There are exceptions of course, as with all parking spaces. Stefan.
Last year we got cocky and blew it. I saw Collingwood bat on Sunday, he did marvels for the Poms.
Seddo
The English lads are down 1-0. Now predict the next test, will it be a close one or another drumming for England.
Stefan.
I just heard today that Harmison will be turning to s more 'batting role' at the second test in Adelaide. Well anyway, personally I think it will be high in runs, but scraping to the Aussies.

Jay
Man o man the Poms took the cake on day one of the Adelaide Test. But if they lost the toss they'd be getting assraped. Bell was a shocker.
JoeyLeone25
Apart from Straussy's poor batting performance again, I thought England did pretty well yesterday/today/whenever. Cook could've done more with his feet and Bell's was just a terrible shot, but he did something much more important, he steadied the ship and allowed a nice partnership to build, which KP The Great has also done with Colly. Now we should easily reach 350 and we should aim to reach 500+ especially on this pitch, but it's all down to KP, Colly and Flintoff now to get us there. Strauss, Cook and Bell Wickets England's three wickets from Day 1 of the Second Test as Andrew Strauss is caught, Ali Cook is caught behind off a beauty from Clark and Bell trys to pull Lee which goes all wrong. Strauss 32-1 Cook 45-2 Bell 158-3 Anomalous Material.com <--> AMF Multiplayer Topic Join Quidco and get Cashback for buying things online!
Chalk
England did well on the first day. They probably could have tried to pick up the run rate (especially earlier in the day) and be another 50 more but they seem to be moving along enough that unless they bat for most of today there may be a result. If by the end of the 3rd day the Aussies haven't ended their batting innings than 2 days for each team to bat/bowl might be a bit much. It gets underway in about 3 and a half hours with day 2. I'm sure plenty of places have it on the net if you don't get it live in England.
Justin
If by the end of the 3rd day the Aussies haven't ended their batting innings than 2 days for each team to bat/bowl might be a bit much. Trudat. I'm predicting a draw. I wish the Poms would pick up their scoring rate a bit. Although I also wish they'd get out already. Awful looking partnership (from an Aussie's point of view) built up here with both Pieterson and Collingwood past 100. In even more topical news, did anyone else see Hussey's diving save to prevent a four and hence leave KP on 99* for one more ball? Brilliant stuff. Jay
Oh man this is painful. Langer is already out. Lets hope Poontang can beat Collingwood's score. Collingwood's 206 is in the top 10 scores by an Englishman made against Australia. Ever. But sh*t, how many times does a 200+ partnership come about? Jay
Well if a tourist is to get a double ton in Australia, it happens in Adelaide. Rahul Dravid, Brian Lara and now Collingwood have done it in recent years. Still 3 days to go. Edited December 2, 2006 by Jayzamann
Justin
I love you Punter. And I wish we'd discovered Hussey five years earlier... Still thinking a draw is the most likely result here. Didn't realise Hoggard was such an awesome bowler.
cice
Wow, three days gone, and the match can go either way. Great test match, but I'm tipping a draw.

Chalk
England have certainly played very well but I think if the Aussies can get through to lunch tommorrow (Day 4) still batting it means they should have reached the follow on target and England will need to bat again. Any guess on how much of a run chase they'd leave the aussies before declaring? I think between 400-450, giving most of the last day to the Australian batsman. They would probably not get anywhere near the total but will last out the day and end the match in a draw. I think the Poms took a few sessions too long to get their runs. If they had a few more hours up their sleeve the pressure would really be on the Aussies. Now all they need is to last until after the tea break to put the game into a position where a draw is imminent. A draws really a bit of a letdown after a brilliant first day by the Poms. Justin
All out for 513. Clarke played a wonderful innings. Pity it's almost certainly going to be a draw now. Still, that leaves us one up, so there's little I can really complain about.

Chalk
Pity when the Poms played the best days they might have in the series and still can only manage a draw. At least it means the series might still be on the line by the time it comes to the MCG. Might even try to get there on day 5 if I'm not working or something. Justin
Looks like Marto's likely gonna be dropped for Shane Watson. Haydos deserves to go before Marto. I'm glad Gilly got back into some form as well, he's been well overdue. And I'll second my comment that Hoggard had an awesome match. Hats off to him. Chalk
Does anyone think that England will get in front by about 250 and give the Aussies a chance of going for it in the hope they collapse and england can pick up the win? I think they will leave it too late and give the Aussies pretty much no choice but to just bat out the rest of the day not really being able to acheive the required runs. It'll be interesting if this was only day 4.

Jay
Ahahaha this is gold. I think within hours of winning the Ashes back, we should release a self serving DVD in England, just like they did to us. Moreover, we should have a huge as f*ck tickertape parade. Pity Australians cannot be Knighted anymore though... Sir Ricky Ponting, for services to kicking England's ass!
