Kazushi_Sakuraba
Every fighting sport sucks compared to this. That is not opinion. The official thread for the greatest sport ever. Who are your favorite fighters? Favorite fights? How devout are you in your Fedor worship? Rickson by armbar?
GM Dude
Can you please explain what MMA is? I'm sorry, but I've never heard of the sport before.

Sniper.
MMA = Mixed Martial Arts Pride Fighting and UFC are come big name examples. Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell are my favorites.
C Bear
Wow, not many MMA fans here. UFC 67 was pretty lackluster overall, though I didn't expect much. I'm really looking forward to the next PRIDE event later this month. Even though they're forced to use the NSAC's inferior rules and scoring, it should blow UFC 67 out of the water. I think UFC 67 was so bad because they over-hyped Rampage Jackson and he ended up sucking balls, sure he's good elsewhere and it probaly was nerves, but he promised fans something he didn't deliver in the slightest. Also, Travis coming in over weight and ruling out the title fight really pissed me off. CroCop was the only decent thing about UFC 67. UFC 68 looks to be good so far, though. chuck430
Pride is so much better than UFC. I didnt watch either until i got to S.Korea, but Pride is just on another level i think. i dont watch many of the new fights, theres always reruns of the top 3 fighters in Pride history (Silva, Crocop and Fedor). I loved watching Silva until i seen Crocop rock his world, then i loved Crocop. sure he lost a few and is horrible on the ground, but he looked good at UFC. i never seen him get on top of someone while they were down, but thats how he won it last week. and Fedor, he's a freak of nature, i cant see him lossing anytime soon. The Rampage fight was alright. Maybe it didn't live up to the expectations that were set, but at least Eastman wasn't afraid to get in there and trade with him, unlike Sanchez vs Cro Cop (though I don't really blame Sanchez for that - he shouldn't even be in the same ring as Cro Cop). The Lutter/Silva fight wasn't bad, and had a great finish. By far the fight of the night was the undercard fight they showed after the main event, Tyson Griffin vs Frank Edgar. That was a war, I'm looking forward to seeing both those guys again. I can't believe Edgar didn't tap from that kneebar. Pride is so much better than UFC. I agree that PRIDE is the best MMA organization in the world. Their scoring system, criteria, and rules make it much more exciting. Especially the scoring. I really, really hate the 10 point system that the US athletic commissions have adopted. It works well for boxing, but it's terrible for MMA. The US judges are also fairly suspect. I don't think the NSAC even understands MMA. I'll watch any and all MMA, though. PRIDE, UFC, K-1 MMA, IFL, IFC, IVC, Pancrase, Shooto, Bodog, StrikeForce, Cage Rage, TKO, APEX, KOTC, 2H2H, ROTR, whatever. I (almost?) always look forward to PRIDE shows the most, though. SIP YEK NOD
everybody counted sylvia out, even tim. absolutley pathetic performace by him. all that aside, my prediction for the future: silvia cro-cop in UFC 74. cro cop deafeats coture in ufc 70, arlovski in 72, and faces silvia in 74. as for the fight here. silvia threw nothing but weak lefts because he was constantly affraid of the takedown. in his last fight against monson, he was prepared for the take-down, prepared for the ground and pound, and defended well against it. this time he just seemed scared as sh*t of the takedown, and sat there waiting for big john to stand them up after the takedown. i also noticed, for the first time in all the fights i have watched. sh*tTY reffing by big john. he wouldn't stand them up in the first when tim was at a disadvantage and it was quite obvious nothing was happening. but come the 2nd and 3rd rounds when randy was in tims gaurd(which is technically still an advantage for the guy on the bottom) they got stood up twice. tim lost before he stepped in the wring because he was scared of cotures wrestling ability, but he will come back in better shape and more prepared than ever to fight(he looked a little pudgy this time around) as for the other fights tonight. they were decent, but the one that impressed me the most was the Martin Kampmann vs. Drew McFedries. two relative no-names put on a really good fight. i am very impressed with kampmann after that. it will be good to see what both of these fighters do in the future(after mcfedries works on his ground game, of course_
chuck430
i was thinking silva wouldnt do too well in the States because he cant stomp on any heads, well that didnt matter since it was him on his back the whole time.
TonyZimmzy
I enjoyed UFC68, thought it was a very good show all around. I see that UFC70 will be in Manchester, England. Maybe I'll go to it, maybe I won't. The card does look good on paper, though.

chuck430
did you see Cpt America just get pummled by Thomson and yet not fall? What was the ref waiting for? the ref was probably too busy laughing his ass off watching the Cpt try to fight and defend himself.
