Startup problem

Ok here's the deal. I had Vice City installed before but then I bought San Andreas and uninstalled Vice City. Now I wanted to play Vice City again but most often when I launch it it says "Microsoft visualc++ runtime library" and just quits the game. Sometimes it launces normally but then after I played like 30 mins my mouse stops working and if the game has to load something it crashes. I tried re-installing (deleted the set file), pathcing, no-cd patch, no-cd patch and cd in the same time, vclimitadjuster stuff, different compatibility modes and everything I can think of but it just doesn't work . If someone knows what to do please help me.
