z3usx
Hi i just installed GTA vice city and if starts fine, gaphics good, runs smooth but after about 5 minutes my screen just pixelates and the compputer is unresponsve - although you can hear some of the sounds playing. my pc specs are amd3200xp, 1 gig ram, 6800gt agp, big hard disk etc. I doubt its my hardware as i played GTA San Andreas fine and actually ran vice city on it with a radeon 9800xt a while back. My drivers are up to date (most recent nvidia ones) Any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks
NightHawk12
Have you modded it lately with any type of mod as that is sometimes the cause. and if you alt+tab out does it have a little box with unhandled exception if so you might wanna reinstall
Spuds725
I am by no means a PC version expert... however, I urge you to read through the Pinned buglist in this section.... try the fixes for anything even remotely associated with PC performance... frame limiter, win 98 compatability, disable background programs (antivirus, firewall) etc.... A Reinstall might be necessary-- perhaps something is corrupted... dopey_chicken
Or maybe its to do with overheating... My laptop (which was quite good back then) used to play it fine and screw up later too. One day I rebooted and checked the temperature... found that it was well about 50*c. Are the fans blocked by any objects?
