jarjar
1. On GTAGarage, we have categories for games, i.e. GTA, GTA2, GTAIII, Vice City and San Andreas. But there isn't any option for just Grand Theft Auto. What I mean, is there isn't a category for either ALL GTA Games or ALL 3D GTA Games. Where as especially for most Modding Tools, most support more then one GTA Game. And only being able to select one of the games it supports could cause problems for visitors trying to find a tool like it, but looking under a different game. How we could go about this, I'm not sure. But I think, being GTA3, VC and SA we're similar, maybe there needs to be a game type like "3D GTA's" or something similar. 2. I've been thinking about this for the GTA Modding forums, now we have categories for each type of modding, yes. But theres one thing we don't have, a category for just General GTA Modding Chat. Somewhere we're you can just post/discuss/reply to things to do with GTA Modding in-general. No about a type of modding, or not even necessarily about modding. I mean we see topics like "Effects of Hot Coffee" and "Rockstar's new game engine" and what not in Gen Chat, where as we could have a forum for topics like that in the GTA Modding Forums category. I think the idea is, that it just gives modders somewhere to just talk about modding in general, not necessarily about how to mod, or how to do this or that, but about the GTA Modding Community, Rockstar, game engines, the future of GTA Modding, etc. Where as currently such topic would be started in either Gen Chat or GTA Modding Troubleshooting. So yes, anyway I have been thinking about these over the last month or two and decided it was about time to suggest it and see what others think. Thanks, -jarjar

uNi
I think it's not necessary, because most of the people when enter the site are looking for a map editor for GTAx, not just a map editor. It's easier for the common visitor.

Ben
I don't mind either suggestion actually. In relation to the first, I think you'd have to keep it split up into categories as it currently is, EXCEPT for common tools like you mentioned - whack them all in a new category (eg - 3D GTA's). Or, you could keep everything where it already is AND make a new category (so the tools would appear multiple times) - this could make them easier to find. As for the second one - not a bad idea, although arguably we've got the Misc. forum for that. But then some things that relate to modding without actually involving physical modding might be better suited to a general discussion - I guess it just comes down to whether or not the staff think there's a real need for one. Yes, thats basically what I mean. So, say a tool would be in the GTA 3D section, but still show up in the GTA3, VC and SA game type searches too. Without that it would be useless. Exactly, the Misc for it not really for general chat, it's used more for modding questions to do with data editing and other miscellaneous mods/modding questions. And having it as a general chat would not work out, it is used a little bit for that now, but it does make it a mess of a forum.
jarjar
Any updates at all? Sorry to bump the topic, but I'd like to have someone in the modding sections or on the staff of GTAGarage atleast give me some feedback on the ideas. Thanks . Mark
Not that my support for both ideas matter much, but I too think both are a good idea. For the 1st one, a tree idea, having 1,2 and London under 1 branch (the 2D GTA bit) and 3, VC and SA under the 3D GTA bit I think is an excellent idea that surely shouldn't take much work to implicate. The 2nd idea...Hmm. Maybe a modding announcement thing would be better. That way it would be kept in order and structured as only certain people would be in charge of posting news in it, meaning info would be easier to find. Any proposals for news that these members miss can be sent to them via PM.
