VC Coding Error Back In VCS

Looking at this, I thought maybe they must have converted VCS's models from VC instead of rebuilding Vice City like they did with LCS's Liberty City models. Either that or this was done again on purpose as an inside joke that not many people other then modder know. Anyway, in VC (if you have it) go to the airport and go to this red box:

As you can see it is hovering off of the ground. As coding error left in Vice City, and it can also be found in Vice City Stories

 

Now in VCS go to the same place and you will see the same thing. I found this while doing a mission which was outside f the airport in VCS. Interesting isn't it? If someone can get me a screenshot on there PSP of it that would be great, thanks.

i thought it was obvious they ported a lot of models confused.gif besides a few changes like the headrails on the stinger

 

still, i had no justification for it. nice eyes there jarjar turn.gif

Of course we modders know how objects are placed, and how to place our own objects, but anyone can notice that it's hovering there. Still, interesting find..

 

Though many of the vehicle models are altered VC car models, not exact copies. You've got two years in between VC Stories and VC, you have to have some differences in the vehicle designs. The Deluxo for example, is more sleak and boxy than the '86 Deluxo.

Knowing how there placed had nothing to do with it, there no real way to tell how high an object is off the ground via map files, as the land around the place is different heights.

 

Well yes, of course, but thats not what I'm saying, I'm saying they must have converted the map and it's textures and models from VC straight into VCS. Not rebuilding it like they did with LCS.

I know 3 other things in VCS that shouldn't be there and are obviously from the original VC:

 

The mysterious Ghost Tower in the airport (still visible from first island).

 

The Easter Egg easter egg "hole" in the wall near the VCN roof was poorly patched up and is clearly the same texture with another texture added to the same spot.

 

The last thing is a little harder to describe. First of all, it is only visible when it is not fully loaded (like the Ghost Tower). If anyone remembers from the original VC, there was a pool on Starfish Island that was the shape of a female upper body with no head, legs, or arms, and it was tan with a reddish tint where the bikini would be. Now it is a normal blue square pool, but when it is unloaded, it still has the shape and tan color from VC.

 

If anyone can get pictures of both VC and VCS, that would be great. And sorry for the long description on the 3rd one.

One more to add to the list.

Between 12:00 and 4:00 at a certain distance you can see the shape of a male organ made by the lights in windows on the hotel by the malibu club.

If you stand in the park where the Avery missions took place in VC and look toward the Chunder Wheel you get the proper distance to see what I'm talking about.

 

It appears that R* made new full models, but left the low lods in the game, thus making things at a greater distance revert back to the origional VC graphics.

 

LCS doesn't appear to have this problem, R* spent their time on it, but VCS (I love the game, and am a R* fan) has got to be the most rushed title they have produced.

Just making sure you understood, ok.

 

 

And yeah, I believe that Airport LOD was seen in one of the VC Stories trailers. I remember talking about that a few months ago.

You think they re-built liberty city for lcs, why would they when it already existed

 

looks like they changed one or two models for new ones and gave everything lower res textures but not rebuilt the city

What he meant was that they did just convert LC models too, but they spent their time fixing a lot of the bugs they found in the system on LCS, whereas VCS still has a lot of coding errors from the original VC in the game because they rushed it.

We'll I'm only going by what Rockstar said. They said they recreated LC form scratch for LCS. But they didn't say that for VCS. So who's to say I guess. For ll we know LCS could have been just a convert too, but theres no evidence.

There is 1 last thing from VC in VCS that I know of, which is if you walk into the doorway in Ken Rosenburg's office, it still has the camera effect.
